Looks like MS took the route that Dream Cast tried taking and switched around how they make them for newer batches to stop the hacking. I wonder how effective this is going to work or how long it will take the folks to hack into this method of config.

Sony did it first. I lost count of how many different versions of the PSX they put out.

Will this affect X-box live play, I don't feel like dealing with people who have hacked characters or found trainers or cheats to make it impossible to defeat them online. Hopefully all the characters, etc.. will be on a Microsoft Server and not stored on the x-box hard drive.

It's unknown at this time what the effect will be for the games. Some people claim to already have hacked xboxes online. I have seen no proff of this however.

Most likley someone will find a way somehow to exploit the system. Hopefully MS will seek them out and punish them.

Yup - I saw that. Cool. Anyone know if the Xodus modchip can help me make my Xbox region free? A modchip without wires makes me think that I could remove it if it interfered with Xbox Live stuff or future anti-modchip stuff Microsoft is planning.

Mine should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. Wanna compare notes? Should be pretty cool.

Wasn't there supposed to be a region free dongle for the xbox? The less opening on the xbox the happier I'll be!
