Unreal Tournament 2003 DVDTalk Clan

So... It's about time we seperate this idea from the existing UT2k3 demo announcement thread.

It doesn't have to be an official clan or it could be - this is whatever you want. It could be just a place to announce when you are playing and on what server. If we all get good enough as a group and organize, we can challenge other clans and other geeky stuff.

Belboz has been graciously hosting a DVDTalk server for us to play on. You can be as involved as you want. This can be like a corporate softball team.

So if you're interested, post here and announce your presence. Also post here if you wanna get others together on the same server.

I need to get a new computer first before I dive into any new games. The only problem is, if I get a new computer, that will cut into amount of DVDs I can afford. I don't know what to do?

I would love to get something started, even if it was just a dedicated DVDTalk server. Just need a computer that can handle it.

I should add that for now this clan is for the PC demo - once there's Unreal Championship for the Xbox or when UT2k3 is actually released for the PC, we can start new threads - for now this is just for the demo. Download it and let's get it on!

Have you considered playing something other than CTF on Belboz's server? Bombing Run is SO much fun.

I'm online as Charlie Foxtrot.

Well, obviously, I'm happy to play; though I can't say I'm keen on the idea of an "official clan." Anyway, I set up the server specifically so that we can all enjoy it. To that end, I'm happy to run whatever maps you guys want on it. In fact, yesterday, I figured out how to restart and change maps as an admin from within the game, so if we're playing, just let me know if you want to change maps.

I think we've probably had about a dozen different forum members playing on my server at one point or another. We just need to set a specific time so that everyone can play at the same time which would be a lot more fun than the 2 or 3 guys that log on whenever I post here.

edited to add:

Just so we have this info here as well. My server is called DVDTalk CTF. If you want to connect directly without going through the browser, just hit the tilde "~" key, type "open 24.199.16.34" and hit return.

That's more or less the purpose of a clan. You can call it a gang if you don't like the stigma attached to "clan"

yeah, I'm definitely in. I have problems every once in a while and get bumped, but I can live with it. I'm ready for the retail version to come out.

It's 11:20 in AZ right now - I'm gonna try logging on to the DVDTalk server. If anyone's up for a game, now would be a good time to join.

I'll jump in, but I'm so not used to playing fast paced it might take me a while to get back n the groove.

Course I don't know if I'll buy the game since I'm poor, but we'll see.

I'll pop in and play with you guys. I've really been playing a lot of multi Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but after I got this demo I haven't been on my regular BEACH server

Anyway, I go by "GoatWeed [Stein]", so if ya see me, launch a rocket my way (I'll mainly be playing at night, after 8pm EST).

I'm gonna head over to the server now... It's 3pm in AZ. Game tonight at 7pm AZ time? It's earlier than I like to play, but I want to give the East coasters a chance.

For time conversion - I guess look at the time I posted this and add or subtract since posting times should be local to wherever you are.

If anybody wants to play right now, I'm in. If I don't move or anything it's cuz I'm making a sandwich or having a smoke.
