What's ya favorite Genre of video games?

I'ma have to say First person shooter because of the multiplayer part ALONE. With RPG in a close second.

RPG (Japanese style)
Adventure (Loved the old PC point and click adventure games)

Those would be my favorite three.

SPORTS, no doubt. No other genre gives you a larger variety of gameplay and lastibility. This ranges from the 2Ks to the Tony Hawks. Which is why NBA 2K3 and Tony Hawk 4 are my most wanted games right now. But more than the THPS series, football, basketball, hockey games are almost always money well spent...very reliable genre.

1.) Third-person perspective American-style RPG. Morrowind being the one exception.
2.) Real-time strategy.
3.) Racing - of all types.
4.) Fighting.

It's hard to pick a single favorite genre, but my top three would probably be platformers (both 2D and 3D), adventure games, and first-person shooters. However, I like games from almost every genre.

I actually enjoy almost all genres (except horse racing and dating sims) but my favorites would probably be First Person Shooters, Platformers and Adventure Games.

1. Platformers- especially the old 2D ones, most 3D ones have shifted emphasis from using skill to get through tough levels/enemies, to exploration and treasure hunts. At least Mario sunshine has some old school section.

2. Sports Games

3. Fighting games

1.) RPG's (FF7, FFX, Legend of Dragoon are among my favorites)
2.) Turn based Strategy (FF Tactics and Briggadine are at top)
3.) Survival Horror (RE Remake, Silent Hill 1, Fatal Frame are my top ones at the moment. The rest of the RE series comes in right behind.)

2. RPG! I love a good story! It's a video game AND a movie! It's a WIN WIN!

3.Platformers- I love the fat Italian plumber and hedgehogs that wear sneakers!
