Old school games

I got my roommates old P2 450 Mhz computer and I was thinking of turning it into a old game server and/or mp3 server. I would like input into old PC games (1980-90s) that you can remember playing back when. Also, any good emulators you can suggest would be very helpful. Thanks.

Just go to any Abandonware site on the web and look at the list of titles. There you go.

Not sure if this thread is DVD Talk "legal"...

hi guys...

i'm very computer stupid, but i love the emulator idea as a link to old games that i used to love. is there anywhere to go for someone who is an ablsolute beginner to learn about how to use them and what the best ones are? in layman's terms?

thanks!

Nowhere to go for layman's terms - you can go to www.gamecopyworld.com if you're just going there to learn about emulators or if you're there to find out how to make a working backup of one of your game CDs. Otherwise some of that information can be seen as borderline copyright infringement.

As for games - my favorite old school game would have to be Bioforge.

For old PC games I was always fond of the King's Quest, Lesiure Suit Larry, and Space Quest series.

You can pick up the old D&D classics at software etc. in their bargain bin. They have collections of all the old adventures in boxed sets.
