Who else got the final cut Xbox Live Email
 

Is that another one of those emails they sent everyone again. I just got an email saying that I made the final cut for Xbox live and that I had to answer one more survey. After the survey it said I would be notified within 2 weeks on if I made it to be one of the beta testers.

Just to let you know, they'll be asking for your nickname that you want and your serial number when you get accepted.

wonder how many people they are picking. Wonder if the chances are good if we made it this far.

I think the odds are very good, think about the questions they asked... seems very final. If you said the wrong thing, then it would be very bad. To get this far and not make it would kill me though.

I just read a thread over at IGN where someone said the first survey went out to a 100,000 users. They weeded them down to a certain number for this final survey. Out of those, they are going to pick 10,000 users. 1 out 10 odds aren't bad if it's all true. I'm sure our odds are better than that if we got this second email.

Just filled mine out. Hope that I get picked. Actually my son is more interested in it that I am but I will have fun playing online.

I got mine just in time for my Xbox to fail on me.

Considering my Xbox is dead I passed.

I got the email and fulled out the survey. Odds are they are going by geographic location, so the less populated area you live in, the better your chances.

Also, It's not 10,000 from the start. It's 5000 from the begining with 1000 added every week for the next 5 weeks.

I got the email and filled it out as well. Seems like this one might be more like pulling names out of a hat to pick the winners.

Nah. They will go by geographic location and service providers. They will want to test XBox Live in all possible locations with all possible gateways.

If you live in a sparsely populated area, you will have a much better chance than someone that lives in a huge metropolis.

Logged on tonight on my home machine and the email was waiting for me. Trust me on this, if you thought the first "survey" was easy to figure the correct answer, this one will make you think the first one was a MENSA test !!!

what do you get by being a beta tester? i know you get the headphones, the 50 dollar service fee for a year. but do you get to beta test games? will they ship you software to test for them?

As far as I know beta testers will get everything included in the start-up kit (communicator, dvd w/software (RC car game Revolt), year of service) you get to play "free" from beginning of beta through November when the service launches then you will be on your year purchased with the kit. You will also get an "online" only version of NFL Fever 2003 that is playable only during the beta test.

I'm in. Let's see what happens.

Once again, I found the email in my junk mail folder. I completed the 2nd survey. Fingers crossed.

Just curious, is there anyone who did NOT receive the 2nd email?
