I called SEGA about my used PSO...

I just bought a used Phantasy Star Online ver. 1, with the serial/key sticker intact. I was able to play it offline, but not online due to an invalid serial key. I called up SEGA and asked them to reset the key, but the rep says they can't. What am I to do? I was thinking of calling SEGA again. I'd say that I just bought a brand new PSO ver. 1 and then tell the rep that I can't play online. I don't know. Help a brotha out, pleeease. Have any of you guys successfully gotten SEGA to reset the registration?

Well, I've never played PSO or anything, but I would call Sega again if I were you. Talk to a different person, explain your situation nicely, and maybe they'll reset it for you.

As Shawn said, call Sega again. You probably just got a stupid and/or mean CSR. I've read numerous stories similar to yours, and it was all cleared up by calling Sega

I'm a man of my word. Thank you.

Sorry, but I've seen similar complaints before. Personally I think segas response is a load of bs!

I had the same response from Sega. They wouldn't budge.

I understand their point of view that they can't really trust anyone to not just be passing the same game around trying to get different codes, but given the game isn't really being sold in stores anymore it would be nice if they could lighten up. Good luck.

I had a code that I put in and it worked , then I misplaced the code and it was making me enter it in again. No chance on getting them to give me a replacement code. Lame.

On another note, it is sweet playing online on the TV.

That's strange. You should be able to get the serial no. reset. When I bought my used PSO I just had them reset it, and it was no problem. Although that was over a year ago, so maybe they have new policies now.
