List of Console Exclusives 2.0

Below is a list of games that are exclusive to Consoles. It is still incomplete of course. Your help is needed to fill in the gaps. I've already gotten alot of help from the forum so far, but there's a ton of titles still not listed. I'll keep this first post updated with the info. All I need from you is the name of the game, the console it's exclusive to, and the developer or publisher that put the game out. Looking at the list below should give you an idea of what I need. I need someone to post older game titles that aren't on the list as well. If any info is wrong or missing, please let me know. Get to it!

Halo is coming to the PC, does that count as it not being exclusive?

This post is for consoles only, PC games aren't considered.

Dead to Rights is already listed correctly under Xbox time-limited exclusives. It's a 3 month exclusive to Xbox, so it wouldn't be listed under PS2 since it isn't ever exclusive on that console.

Okay - updated - guys... c'mon. I know there are more games. PS2 is looking sad right now - someone dish out the exclusives... date it back to a year and a half ago when all they had was fantavision or whatever the hell that game was... that's exclusive.. right?

Ok, here goes...

PS2 Exclusive

Fantavision - Sony

and a... er... how about...

Frequency - Sony

How's that? Honestly, I think the problem with Sony is that they don't have much in the way of first party development teams (compared to Nintendo and Microsoft which are primarily software companies) and end up relying heavily on third party developers for their biggest games which often get ported eventually unless Sony shells out the big bucks to secure exclusivity (like the GTA and Tomb Raider series). Thus, there seems to be fewer exclusives for PS2.

Seriously? Cuz if that's the case, the Xbox looks like the one to buy and I know most people don't think it is. I'm surprised. I'd have thought that PS2 had heaps more exclusives than Xbox and GC combined the way everybody talks about it. So is this list complete then? Hard to believe. Oh - there's no way... I know there are tons of crappy PS2 games that came out last year that won't end up on another console. Bouncer? uh... Fantavision?... c'mon...

Oh, there are definitely a few more games that are probably missing but not a lot. As far as I can see, the majority of exclusives are already on the list and there are several on there that probably won't stay exclusive (like Virtua Fighter 4 and Onimusha 2 to name a few). The reason everyone raves about the PS2 is not so much the number of exclusives but simply the total number of games available for it. Since it's the market leader, most third party games will be released for it eventually. The other reason it's so popular is due to a few key exclusive franchises like GTA and Final Fantasy. Overall, it's personally my least favorite console due to it's underwhelming power (especially when it comes to it's bland textures) which tends to drag the quality of Gamecube and Xbox ports down because the developers have to program to the lowest common denominator.

Shhhh...don't let ScandalUMD have another chance to declare the Xbox's failure.
Anyways, back on track, Morrowind is developed by Bethesda Softworks.

Nah - I think there are a lot of games missing from the list - sheer volume of game titles available for the PS2 tells me that. I just thought of a few Fatal Frame and Mr. Mosquito. There's got to be dozens more. You guys are just lazy slackers.

The PS2 just has (had in some cases) bigger star power type exclusives like GTA3, MGS2, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy series etc.

Besides Halo, MS's exclusives lack star power, even though they are great games, and some like Morrowind and JSF are niche market titles.

I think that's where the misconception of sony having more exclusvies comes from. There exclusives are just more visible to the casual gamers of the world.

But I'm sure there's still a ton where forgetting. I've only had a PS2 since May, so my memory isn't that sharp on the older games as I didn't pay super close attention to the releases.

Is ATV Offroad Fury PS2 exclusive?

Also Twisted Metal Black. You have TWB Online listed, but not the original.

Josh - please delete your post above - this is not a thread for this argument. You've said that before several times in other threads and it's not needed here. Sony has twice as many games as the other two systems, so it stands to reason that half of them are exclusive. What about the Britney Spears game? What about the Dancing games or Parappa or whatever... You guys just need to think harder.

I was actually saying that I think MS's exclusives are probably at least as good as Sony's, just many people don't realize this because they aren't as high profile as Sony's.

Your right. There are a lot of obscure (often crappy) PS2 games that will probably never be ported to the other systems. However, the majority are probably unlikely to sway anyone one way or the other to buy PS2. It's probably almost an impossible task to track down every last old PS2 game that no one has bothered to port (likely due to poor sales). Better to concentrate on the upcoming releases and the more prominent older games. I suppose your missing 'Kabuki Warriors' as an Xbox exclusive too but I would hardly call that an omission .

Exactly, that's what I was getting at.

I think the X-box (and gamecube for that matter) have pretty much the same number of quality games (ones that consistently got good reviews) as the PS2.

I was simply saying many gamers are under the false impression that the X-box doesn't have quality exclusives because they aren't as visible as GTA3, FFX etc. That doesn't mean they aren't as good, just not everyone has played them or is familiar with them so they write off the X-box off as having the least "good" exclusive, which is blatantly wrong IMO.

Josh - I don't consider what you were saying a MS bash - it's just something that you've been saying in other threads and it's not even relevant here - I don't care who has more star power or who has better exclusives or who has more exclusives. I'm not going to keep track of the number of exclusives or any of that. This list was mainly to serve as a reference. As for how people use it, that's up to them - I'm not interested in trying to sell the consoles to unsuspecting buyers. I suspect the best use of it would be for people who own 2 or 3 of the systems and want to know which games will be exclusive and which games will be exclusive for a period of time only and then they can decide which system to buy the games for or whatever... I just don't care. I'm trying to keep it unbiased and bicker free. I wanted you to remove that comment because it's not relevant and it's spawned this off-topic discussion about why we can't think of what games are exclusive to Sony. Who cares? Just find em. I'd like you to remove that comment and the one where you tell me to pull my head out of my butt before the moderators remove it for you. I don't appreciate the personal attack - it wasn't provoked and this certainly isn't the thread for it.

Now... If someone knows a place that lists all the games available in a format that I can copy and paste for each system - I can maybe fool around with it so I can eliminate the ones that span all 3 consoles and then extrapolate the exclusives.

I'm too lazy to do this right now () but Flay has all the XBox exclusives in his Xbox thread and all the Gamecube exclusives in his Gamecube thread. I don't know if you used those already, so if you did, I apologize for posting this.

Okay - I pulled lists of games from Xbox.com, SCEA.com, and Nintendo.com. I alphabetized them and colored the text different colors for each console. Then I put all the lists together and alphabetized that. Then I started going through to cut out any game that was listed 3 times. Then I started to realize that the lists aren't all complete. The Nintendo list is the most up-to-date of the 3 and includes games they've only announced. I think the PS2 list is the most out of date. Anyway - if someone knows more about release dates and whatnot and is familiar with the newer games out there *and has MS Word 2002, let me know so I can email you this list so you can filter out all the stuff that needs filtering.

Balls... okay - I've been plugging away adding titles. It's going to take a long time to sort through all this. I wish the lists were complete - if you find any errors, please point them out immediately. I'm only up to "D" on the alphabetical list, so it'll be awhile.
