Anyone else get the Xbox Live Beta email?
 

I received the email this morning, off to take the survey!

Yup, got mine and already did the survey. I hope I get picked.

Yup. I'm still not sure if my 128k ISDN connection is going to work. There was nothing on the sign up page for ISDN. My pings are usually around 100 ms. When playing Medal of Honor online, my router drops the second channel because it's not needed (meaning that a 64k connection is plenty of bandwidth).

Anyone heard about ISDN's viability for console gaming?

Yup took the survey, and I don't think there are right answers. I bet they are going to try to and get people who answered in different ranges not just one "I only play games" category. Remember for this to be successful it has to attract the mainstream audience as well.

I found it strange in the small print that you had to pay for the Xbox live kit. They state they'll give you an extra couple of months of online play for free, but nothing other than that. I still took the survey and planned on signing up anyway :D, but seeing as we're testing it for them, it'd be nice to get a free online game or free whole/partial year

Hey Spanky, are you going to turn them down if they pick you? You seem pretty much opposed to XBL in other threads.

I also registered my XBox. From the looks of things at the TeamXBox and IGN forums, if you didn't register your Xbox, you won't get the survey email.

New info about the Beta from insider sources at Microsoft:

• The first email was used to gauge who had broadband and survey the different cable operators that would be used for the service. The rest of the questions were just for the marketing dept.
  
• They are planning to send out email #2 before August 12th and start taking orders for the beta kit immediately after the email comes out.
  
• They are supposed to announce a secret "online only" title in final beta test email or have details on it in the beta test kit.

Weird, when I checked that site again, my xbox isn't listed as registered. Pretty sure I did that when I bought the extended warranty. I also got the email already.

Might need to do that later.

The XBox Live forums are up for the start of the Beta. You can't do anything yet in the forums.

Looks like the first games that will be in the Beta are Revolt, NFL Fever 2003, and NFL2K3.

I had signed up for the Xbox Live beta.
