Most Anticipated PC First Person Shooter?

So which game are you simply dying to play that's taking too damn long to come out?

edit: Here's some video previews from each game (what I could find anyway)

Call of Cthulhu - at the bottom of page, click on Media

Duke Nukem Forever - at bottom of page, click on Media

Doom III - bottom of page - click Media

DX2 - no movies here, click media at bottom of page for screens

Unreal Tournament 2003 - media at bottom of page...

Unreal 2 - no movies here either, only pics

Team Fortress 2 - same as above, includes videos

Some Unreal videos

DX2 videos?

No such thing as Half-Life 2 videos...

I'm not a 3DR fanboy, could never get into Deus Ex, have no faith that Valve can actually produce product anymore, and didn't like Unreal, so I'll go with Doom 3.

NOLF2 looks promsing too, though.

Team fortress 2 has been on people's mind for some time now, But I will go with Doom 3 since it's been a long time in the making. on of the originals in FPS the series has been #1 in my book and well worth it.

Voted for Doom 3 as well. As a non-Xbox owner, I'm also looking forward to Halo.

Edit: didn't see PC in the thread title.

In that case I'll have to go with Doom 3, as it's the one I most hope gets ported decently to a console.

Um, will this be a PC title, or is it just that all videogame threads must include a Gamecube reference from Josh?

I picked Duke Nukem Forever - cuz I've been waiting forever for it. Watching the video from E3 2001 of this game just makes me want to buy it right now. Watching the Doom 3 demo they had at E3 2002 made me want to play it, but the fact is I'm patient and can wait for this one. Duke Nukem Forever is something I have no patience for. I can't even stand it. The Unreal sequel video they showed at E3 2002 looked awesome, but I still don't think it can touch Duke, Doom, or Deus Ex... Speaking of Deus Ex 2 - the E3 demo they had of it looked amazing. They really nailed the physics and the lighting effects. I was so amazed at how awesome Deus Ex looks. If you're a fan, you're going to sh*t yourselves when you see this in action. Talk about immersion and realism. This would be my most anticipated title if not for Duke... and it's really a tough call with Doom 3 there. Anyway - I'm the only person so far who voted for Duke Forever - maybe you all haven't seen the E3 video yet... go to 3drealms website and check it out. It'll blow you away (well it should anyway)... it's a year old now, but it's still cool... and I'm not even a fan of Duke Nukem.

I'll agree that Valve doesn't seem like they're going to make anything else. Call of Cthulhu looks so damn freaky - It should be out soon and I'll be first in line for it... still, it's no match for DNF. You all should check the video for Call of Cthulhu too... maybe I'll post links to the videos...

I've seen it. And the video at E3 2000. And experienced the hype for the two years before that. I'm sick of 3D Realms and their (especially Broussard's) posturing. Put up or shut up.

Crap - forgot to add Tron 2.0 to the list... I was going to. NOLF 2 is supposed to be cool too. Tron 2.0 specifically though. Aghama - I'm really sick of "When It's Done" as a release date. That's just irritating. The fact is though - I can't help but really really want to play this game based on that 2001 trailer which I've seen numerous times. Here's a link to the bink version of the DNF trailer (which is much better quality)...

Deus Ex 2. The original was so groundbreaking and the sequel sounds even better.

Same feeling here, Deux Ex was a humongous waste of my time.

I do want to play Unreal 2 and Unreal Tournament 2003 pretty badly though, it will tide my nicely until Doom 3 comes out.

I liked Deus Ex, but near the end the story got so convoluted that I started to lose interest and move to something else - I have yet to finish it - I'm about 85% through with it.

I never could get into Thief either. Wow.

Doom III, no question.

Honorable mentions: Deus Ex 2, Team Fortress 2.

Not a fan of Unreal or Duke Nukem.

Another note, I remember a while back an FPS based on the XCOM series was being made, does anyone know what happened to this? I loved XCOM.

I can't believe that DNF has only one vote (my vote by the way)... it's nearing completion you know... they even said that the reason they didn't attend E3 2002 was so they could finish up the game. Now, I'm the first in line to be pissed that the game isn't out already and that they keep saying "When It's Done", but I'm also first in line to buy the stupid game when it comes out. Have you not seen the bink video of the 2001 E3 trailer?? I think it'll blow Doom 3 away.

I would have said Team Fortress 2, had you asked me 2 years ago when the damn game was supposed to come out. I've completely given up on hope of it ever coming out. I haven't seen any updates or new info about this game in over a year.

So I voted for Duke Nukem Forever. I don't know anything at all about this game, but I loved DN3D. I still use the mouse pad that came free with Duke 3D.
