Marvel vs Capcom 2...PS2 or DC?
With Marvel vs. Capcom 2 being released in October for the PS2... Should i wait and buy the PS2 version or should I just pick it up for my dreamcast?
Thanks!! |
Get it on the Dreamcast I say.

Dreamcast. You can find it for under $20, and it will be the exact same game. I doubt they'll add new characters or anything. ;) Not that it would matter with almost 60 characters...

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is very hard to find for dreamcast in a lot of areas, including mine (MD). Not sure if there is a more avid gaming population or whatever, but it was always out at eb and babbages when the dc was still in production. Finding a copy on ebay for under $30 isn't easy either. If you can find one for dreamcast, great. If not, wait around for the ps2 version.

Just get it for dreamcast. you can't go wrong.
|
if you find it, get the dreamcast version. the game was designed for the dreamcast, and the PS2 is likely just a port. but they are right, this title is almost impossible to find. it'll be cheaper to get the PS2 version.

Dreamcast

Also find someone who has net connectiong with their DC so you can download the VMU file, otherwise youll get stuck with with only half the characters. The point system was designed for net play.
|
downloading VMU files online is nothing hard. and I figure everyone on here will have to do that once your memory card dies. buy an extra if you can or replace the battery so that it doesn't die on you.
|
I have the DC version. Got it for $30 when it first came out.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but the battery n the VMU has nothing to do with saving games. If the battery dies, you do not lose your saves. You just can't play VMU games or use the VMU screen like for the NFL2K games and so on. At least that is what the instruction said. |
The VMU batteries can die, but if you want to use your VMU outside of the DC controller to play minigames and such you need to keep the battaries new.
|
Get it on XBOX!!!

No they cant be erased, unless you have the VMU turned on while changing the batteries. Id suggest looking for one of those 4X mem cards for the DC sure its not as stylish as a VMU but it holds a lot of memory.

and get a card with a cable that hooks to your PC so you can easily download those save files

This was one of the few games I loved on DREAMCAST! I dumped DC so I'll have to get it on PSX2.
Thanks for the heads up! |
This was at E3 too, I ruled like 5 guys in a row. It plays just as well. If your having trouble finding in on DC go for the PS2 version

If you can find the DC version I say pick up that one. (they're kind of hard to find these days) everynow and then gamespot and ebgames gets a used copy and they sale if for about $30.
|
I had the DC version and would get it if you can find it cheap. That's tough to do in most places though as it seems to be a fairly rare game.
A plus of the PS2 version is that the Dual Shock is better suited to fighters IMO. The DC controller is second only to the plain X-box controller as being my least favorite controller of all time. I loved my DC and it's games, but hated the controller. |
oh man.. total reverse here.
I loved the Dreamcast controller, and find it second best to only the regular Xbox controller! Also loved both Saturn controllers, the original and the 3d one. Dont like the PS1/2 controllers, like the Gamecube one, really like the N64 one, the controller-S is "okay." |
Not sure if your going to find MVsC 2 at EB or GameStop most of those places dont buy back imports.
