I'm no professional but with video memory you either have it on your video card or you don't. Anyway, Please post your computers specs and if not me someone else can hopefully assist you. Specifically, what kind of video card and how much memory is on board.

If you have a new computer that doesn't have at least 16MB of video memory, then you probably bought an e-machine or you have a used laptop. If you bought an Emachine, take it back to the store and demand your money back.

Video memory isn't something you can "free up"... do this...

right click on your desktop somewhere...
click properties...
click the settings tab
click the advanced button
click the adapter tab
there you should find your video card specs... chip type, memory size etc...

Mine says GeForce4 and 128mb of ram.

Is your video onboard, or do you have shared memory? This is a resource hungry game, I upgraded from a 800mhz Duron/32mb Geforce 2MX to a 1.4 Tbird and Geforce 3Ti just to get smooth gameplay.

Great game, but they sure could have spent more time optimizing the engine for the PC.
