Grand Theft Auto 3, Need Help, Continually crashes
 

Can anybody help me on this, my computer contains all of the relevent specs needed to run GTA 3 but there is quite a bit of lag after starting the game and it crashes soon after starting.

When will the patch be released, can anybody help me???

If you legally own the game then the following is perfectly legal:

The biggest performance booster that I found was doing a full install!! The game uses the second CD for all of the sound effects, so if you have a slow access time (cheap) cdrom it causes pauses everytime it makes/changes a sound.

To do a Full install simply Ctrl-A the entire contents of Disk2 and then paste it all into the GTA3 folder (say yes to overwrite existing files), this'll put all the audio/mp3s in to the GTA3/AUDIO folder and the required temp files in the GTA3 root directory. Then apply the nocd patch to remove the safedisk wrapper (also increases performance).
