best way to clean NES deck and cartridges?

I have been wanting to play some of my old games for awhile now but my deck and games need a good cleaning. They won't work properly and those crappy old cleaners they used to sell at Funcoland would only make them work for a little while. Could someone please help me with this problem? Thanks

For the deck, buy a new 72 pin connector from somewhere like http://www.mcmelectronics.com and replace it yourself.

For the games, get a 3.8 MM security screw bit so that you can open the carts, then use an eraser.

Blow really hard on the games' connections. But be careful not to spit on them.

To avoid getting moisture on the pins when you blow, put your t-shirt over it, then blow.

The LAST thing you want to do is blow on the pins. That puts moisture on them, which leads to CORROSION, which is your problem in the first place. You can/should use a cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol on it and clean off the corrosion. Then, dry that sucker thoroughly. it should be as good as new. remember to keep your games dry and covered with their dust jackets too. As geky as that sounds, they are a godsend.
