Region Free DVD Playback with a PS2?

I was wondering if anyone has used any of the devices to get region free DVD playback on their PS2, such as the Action Replay, PS2 Region X, PS2 DVD Region Free etc....If so do these products work well? Additionally, would the DVD from a different region still have to be NTSC or will a PAL DVD be able to be outputted? Thanks for the help.

I've played region 0 DVD's and they have worked fine. I have never tried region 2, 3, or 4.

Noticed that my Gameshark Version 2 has a DVD player option. It looks like you can use this to change from Region 1 to 2, 3, 4 etc.

By the way, Region 0 means allowed on all players.

Problem is the PS2 does not do PAL to NTSC conversion so I still can't use it to watch Region 2 DVDs.

I'm hoping for a cheap all region solution for the Xbox because it does PAL to NTSC conversion. I played my French Lawrence of Arabia Bonus disc on the Xbox and it played perfectly. Its region free, but PAL.

Do you think that when Interact eventually releases a Gameshark for the X-Box that it'll allow Region 2 playing?

Welcome, mparysz! There have been plenty of threads on the region-free-edness (or not) of the PS2 and X-Box. Please do a search (in the upper-right corner of the page), and you'll find past discussions on these topics.
