Due to the lack of Guncon games available I was all willing to pick this up. Thankfully, I rented it first. The game is a huge throwback to the beginnings of the genre. In a negative way. The gameplay is a virtual knockoff from Time Crisis. Has the very same duck/reload ability and an annoying voice that shouts "ACTION!" and doesn't add much at all to the genre. The graphics are also very 1st generation and in the cinemas look only slighty better then hi-res PSOne graphics. I hadn't had a chance to play the game with 2 guns(the game boasts single player double gunning) or with a friend(just hadn't had the urge to play it again) so I can't comment on those aspects. However, the one plus is that there is a 2nd game on the disc which is what the heroine of the game plays in her spare time. The game is quite humorous, like playing a Buzz Lightyear shooting game, but it's not made clear how to unlock further levels and it too isn't anything new.
All in all I can't recommend this game at 50 dollars. If you're itching to use your Guncon again you're better off playing Time Crisis or Vampire Night again. If Time Crisis 2 is the House of the Dead 2 for the PS2 then Endgame is the system's Death Crimson OX. Unless you can get the game for around 20 dollars it's not worth it.
Gets a 4 out of a 10

C-Killer Redux, thanks for the info. GameSpot.com just posted a review on this game today, and it gets a very bad rating also, I think it gets a 5.1 rating... Thanks, I wasa about to get it!
