Gameshark Problems

I've had a gameshark for my ps2 for about six months or so. I seldom use it, but i remember when i first bought it, it worked fine. However just the other day when i went to use it i got a disk read error. Has anyone else had problems with this.

I went to the gameshark site but was unable to find any postings of people having problems with thier gamesharks.

Is the disk scratched? Sometimes the scratch can cause disk read error.

The disk looks almost brand new, hardly any scratches.
