PS2 Quake and Unreal Tournament - do the old PSX controllers work?

Hey all - just got my new PS2 and have read that the old PSX controllers only work for some games. Does anyone here know if they work for either of these games? I want a deathmatch game to play with my friends, but I don't want to shell out 75 bucks for three additional new controllers, so if the old ones work for either of these games, I'd love to know.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

as long as they are dual shock 1 controllers then yes. I have 2 Dual Shock 2s and 2 original dual shocks and they work just fine in TM:B and Bond. The only thing is that you don't have analog buttons so if a game requires that then you'll miss out on that functionality. AFAIK, neither UT or Quake 3 use analog buttons so you should be fine.

Thanks much, Dave!

Not unless the old PSX controllers are a mouse and keyboard. ;)

You'll find that the PS1 sticks aren't quite as tight as the PS2.

This is generally true but the new PSone Dual Shocks(the white ones) have the tighter sticks that the DS 2 controllers have.
