E3: PS2 games (broadband post)
 

At first, the Sony lineup seems rather lackluster when compared to the X-Box and Nintendo earlier in the last 2 days.

But after seeing these, I'm now changing my tune.


1. THE GETAWAY

For one, "The Getaway" looks absolutely incredible - a GTA-killer, if you will. I've been wanting more info abou this game since it was previewed about 2 years ago. A chance to relive "The Long Good Friday" and"Get Carter" (not the remake!)? I'm game.

2. CONTRA: SHATTERED SOLDIER

This looks really promising! For one, it's developed in-house in Japan, and not by those developers who made the PS Contras. Phew!

Seeing that huge list from X-box almost made me think about getting one, but I think the PS2 will still keep me happy. :)

Don't you mean Silent Hill 3 (instead of 4)?

Yes, it is 3 not 4. You can't have four consective I roman numerals. It has to be written as IV not IIII if to be four. Plus, anyone with a brain knows you don't skip a game number with the exception of Leisure Suit Larry.

Thank God this Contra is Japanese-made and by the original Contra team as well. A plus plus.

I just hope that Silent Hill 3 is more like the original. There is nothing scarier than walking through a school with blood and guts splattered on the walls and having to shoot little kids cause they are coming at you with knives. That reminds me, I still have to beat Silent Hill 2 again.

Ratchet & Clank looks pretty cool, but that might just be because I am enjoying the hell out of playing Jak and Daxter right now. So many quality games.

Yeah contra looks pretty good! It actually looks like it also plays "2D" but the graphics are 3D, kind of like how Klonoa 2worked and is the way contra should be ;). This looks like it might be the best contra since the SNES and NES!

All those games are now on my list to buy except #5 and #6 those just don't look appealing to me.

yea Sony was kinda dissapointing this year. But I really enjoyed playing Socom and Shinobi though, those games did look good though. Oh yea the Devil May Cry preveiw was awsome.
