Perhaps we have finally stumbled upon the real reason you are against competition in the video game market! Is it because you cannot afford all the competing consoles and are angry that you cannot play certain games that are only available on the other systems? I think we may have our answer...

Try actually reading any of the dozens of posts in this thread and go for it. Hope your evidence will be better than it's been so far!
You mix your evidence with juvenile remarks. List out your evidence and maybe I can answer them.

I don't know if it is only in the video game industry, but yes, competition does not benefit consumers.

Again, where is your evidence to support this statement? Your assumptions about console sales do not count as evidence. Everything you used as evidence is YOUR OPINION. That is NOT evidence. Still waiting...

But according to you, competition lowers prices and would make it easier for someone to get their hands on a system. So therefore, a person will little excess wealth would be happier about competition because they would beable to afford a console when originally they would not. Hmm... before you were saying that competition was better for the consumers, but here you are saying it is worse. Contradicting your own statements.

Just shot off an email to the CEO of Sony asking weither the price decrease was because of competition or because of market saturation. I'll be sure and let you know the responce when/if I get one. Since he is the only one who actually knows, I'm sure that you will be satisfied with whatever he says.

Very good! Your learning. That would, in fact, constitute evidence! Once you get that evidence, you'll be well on your way to formulating a real argument. Until then, I'm afraid your still left with an unproven theory. Sorry...

I could say the same to you.

Well in Japan, more PSXs are being purchased than X-boxes. I would say that is credible.

Last time I checked, the price drop wasn't in Japan, it was in the US, the place you claimed they can't sell any.

Say Josh, just curious, but how old are you? Seriously... Just curious.

No, I believe I have always maintained that competition is good but that is an excellent attempt at misdirection! A fine tool to use when you do not have a real response to a well thought-out argument. You're the only one here who has repeatedly contradicted himself. But I can see that you are quite obviously the type of person who will continue to maintain that the world is flat even when faced with mounting evidence that it is actually round. If there is one thing that you have proven, it's that you are stubborn to a fault. Congratulations on that, I guess...

I have caught you in a contradiction to your own statement, but you have yet to catch me.

Here's the thing, if competition doesn't do anything positive for the console market, then who cares if MS takes it over and has a monopoly? According to Josh's idea of competition and a free market being useless, then it wouldn't matter.

I claimed that they can't sell X-boxes anywhere, not just in the US. Are you trying to stalk me? But by your ability to argue, I'm going to guess you're 7 years old, am I close?

A gaming system with the reliability of Windows and packed with just as many useless programs? No thank you.

Peace! I'm outta here!

Wish I had caught this sooner. It's ridiculous that people can't discuss video game consoles without getting into a shouting match. Closing thread.
