ARGH! Trouble with MOH: Allied Assault (technical, not gameplay).

So I get all the way to the mission where I snipe the axis from blowing the bridge, then have to call in the planes on the tanks. After a few tries, I finally do it, the mission completes, a medal is awarded, and then it begins to load the next campaign. The program exits, and this error comes up in the console:

FS_ReadFile with empty name

I've got the newest patch, and tried to search the help page for this error with no success. Any ideas?

Have you looked around on any online MOH:AA forums? There are some that can get very technical, which sounds like what you'd want. I did the same thing for Jedi Knight 2 and got my problem solved very quickly.

That's where I'm at in the game, but I can't hold em off long enough. It was too frustrating, so I quit for the evening. If I ever finish that part, I'll let you know if it does the same thing to me. I've had the game lock up on me a few times and kick me out to the desktop in XP. I simply restart (as if I was using 98) and start the game again picking up where I left off... works fine for me.

I got past that part with no errors, but I didn't win a medal. Maybe it's trying to retrieve the medal related files?

Where are you hiding to hold them off? I got in the very top of the tower to the left of the bridge (there are 2 staircases, one goes a little bit up, the other all the way up). It's REAL easy to pic off all the snipers from there, but you've got to RUN out after you've gotten them all as a tank blows up that tower...

I've tried restarting over and over and over again with no luck .

Go into the tower on the left. Take out the snipers (and possibly a tank or two? You'll hear someone on your radio telling you to get out of the tower). Run across the street, shooting the two guys that are in the way. There is another building on the other side of the street. Go into it and climb the stairs.

Use your radio to call in a strike on a tank. Then pull out your SMG and shoot the guys coming up the stairs. Repeat the last two steps until you're done. When I did it on the hardest difficulty level, I'd call in a strike on one tank, then have to shoot two guys coming up the stairs.

Somewhat of a poor level in my mind (as is the one before it and the one after it).

That's what I said (in a little less detail)! My "restarting over and over" comment was directed at the "try restarting your computer after it crashes" suggestion to fix my problem .
