i was leafing through the new gamepro when i came upon the sequel to the greatest game ever....

its also Gamecube exclusive.....

Superlatives aside, this is very welcoming news, as long as they don't shortchange the single player mode.

I hope the single player levels are longer.

Maybe a level creation tool would be nice too.

Definitely good news. I hope they come up with some new mini-games that are as good as the one in the original and add some variety to the main game. Toning the frustration level down a bit would be nice too. :D

I hope they don't do that, it would get boring if all the levels were Advanced difficulty.

Somehow I don't think you would have posted that if Sega had annouced Super Monkey Ball 2 as an X-box exclusive.

I hope they can find a way to make the game not become boring, other than making it so difficult that only the infintely patient can get through the Expert mode. :D

Personally, if it's just new boards and the same gameplay, I won't bother picking up the sequel. Well, unless the mini-games are really, really good. Monkey Billiard and Bowling are the only two things I still play. Expert was just too frustrating for me. It was too hard to be fun IMO.

I only got up to level 20 or so before I unlocked unlimited continues. But it wasn't really that hard to complete expert once I did. It would be better if you could earn play points when you're playing with 2 or more peope, though.

I've never gotten past level 15 or so with unlimited continues. :D

I just don't have the patience, plus I thought the main game got old pretty fast anyway as it was just the same thing over and over on slightly different boards. Plus there was nothing else to unlock so I didn't really have any motivation to labor through, and I didn't think it was fun, so I just quit and stuck with the mini games. :D

I love the first one and will definitely pick up part dos!

sweet!! Thanks for posting the link to those pictures CreatureX!! It looks a lot more detailed than the first game, though that didn't detract from the gameplay at all in the first. From the looks of the screens it looks like Monkey Soccer will be debuting :).

I loved the first one, I got my friends hooked on this game :D. Easy to play but practically impossible to master heheheh.....I never did beat the expert mode, can't wait for this one!

Great, great news. SMB is my most-multiplayed game. Love those minigames. Can't wait for #2.

I didn't read the fine print before, 150 new stages and a story mode complete with "crazy challenges." I'm 'bout it.

My girlfriend loves monkeyball! We have had many parties with our friends and monkeyball, always ends up being a drinking game though.

Ign said that all the original minigames will be redone for 2. plus soccer, baseball, and some others. This is going to be the best party game ever. Unless a new Mario Kart comes out.

god i love this game. my gamecube gets all the attentation, its making all the other consoles jealous. ;)
