warcraft III?

anybody here betatesting this?
Haven't heard much about it in over a month, which is not a good sign. When do you guys think it will come out?

soon I hope :(

The game looked good at E3 last year. I am not sure why we are all still waiting.

My friend has a beta of it. He says it should be out late summer. Looks awesome btw.

I was selected as a beta tester and I haven't played it since about the first week. It's a great game as far as RTS are concerned. I just haven't had much time to play it. When I played it, it felt like you couldn't get as many units as you should. I'm sure a lot has changed since I last played it. I have a few friends that aren't beta testers... yet somehow they play this game on battle.net. And no one gave them any cd-keys. I have no doubt Blizzard caught on when there were much more than the 2,000 logged on and playing. I just got an e-mail that says the beta cd-keys can be used on 5 computers at once. So if you have a friend or a friend of a friend with the beta, you should be able to participate.

I have played this and it is very fun, and there are ways around battle.net also.

I've been beta testing it for a while ... but I have this crappy video card so it keeps locking up. The game says that it requires 32 MB of video ram, and my friends who are beta testing tell me that you should really have at least a geforce3 video card.

Anyway, it's slow learning since the single player mode is disabled. Basically learning by getting killed on Battle.net. So there is a way around Battle.net? Hope it's a legal way ...

Hints?

Can anyone give any clues as to how multiple people can play on the same CD-key? I may be clueless, but I thought you had to have the game disk in the computer in order to be able to play.

My nephew go the beta, but when I tried to play it on my computer a couple weeks ago, it gave an "expired" message after the update for the game loaded. Any help would be appreciated.

The release date for the game, which appears to be final, is 6/27. Can't wait!

You can play without battle.net through a kind of emulator. It has been out a long time. i don't know how it is does exactly but it works.

To get rid of the expired message just set your clock in windows back a month or so, install and then change it back. When you install change the user name (on the screen you put the cd-key) to a different name, I dont' think it will let two people with the same user name on.

Sounds good Flux. I just thought the beta testing was over.

Cornfed or anyone, can you explain how five computers can use the same CD-key? Thanks.

I haven't tried it for myself but this is copy-and-pasted from the email I got.

Warcraft III Beta Updates:

Additional players - For the Warcraft III Beta we will now allow up to 5 people to play on Battle.net per CD key simultaneously.

Following are some important points you should know about the CD key upgrade.

1. You can now include your friends by having them install from your CD using your key. The CD does not need to be in the CD-ROM drive after installation, but each person needs to install using a different installation name.

2. Beware that if you choose to let others use your CD-Key you should ensure that they do not distribute the key to anyone else. Doing so could mean that the next time you try to log on, all 5 available slots will be filled. If all 5 slots are filled, you will not be able to play on Battle.net. Please note that we will not be able to create additional slots, so please display caution when distributing your CD key.

3. Blizzard cannot provide new or replacement keys.
