gameboy advance multiplayer??

im sorry if this was mentioned before but i was just wondering and i didnt bother to check, but, if you want to play multiplayer on gameboy advance, does each player need to have their own copy of the game, or can you have one game with the multiplayer attachment??
if think people who have gameboy advance will understand this question but if no one does, my bad, i can rewrite it when im not drunk and high....................

So you're drunk and high, and the first thing that comes to your mind is "let me post on DVDTalk and ask about how multiplayer on the GBA works??????"

Drunken posting turned into quite the phenomenon in Other until it was recently frowned upon by the mods. It's a shame actually because it's quite fun to post there whilst intoxicated. Maybe I should be coming to the Video Game forum to do that from now on.

The first response (Grouchos) was accurate. It depends on the game. Some require all units have a cart, some only require one. Some allow both but you get more options with the cart, like Sonic or Dodgeball.
