The game is just OK. If you have played WSB2k1 for the dreamcast, it is essentially the same game with some improvements. The game is a bit lacking. On a scale of 1 - 10 it's probably a 7.

Have you played All Star Baseball for GC as well? My collection and time schedule only has room for one baseball game and I'm not sure which one to go with. I'm waiting until some more online reviews of Home Run King come out. Any recommendations?

Sorry I have not played the latest ASB, I played last years versoin for the GC and I thought it really sucked so I passed on this years version. So I can't really compare the two games.
The game isn't bad, it just isn't great. Then again I don't think I have played a great baseball game since Griffey baseball for the N64.

I really like this game a lot. It is now 30 bucks at eb, and I couldn't resist it.
The graphics and sound are good, the play by play is alright.
The actual game is pretty damn deep, this game really does not feel like an arcade game to me.
The batting system reminds me of WSBB2k2 (well gee it is made by sega as well) and the pitching system is very cool.
What I also like is that you as the batter can predict what pitch is going to be thrown and get a little extra mustard on the ball. Also the variations in swing types, power, contact, and regular is nice.
Well worth the price I paid.
