Does anyone keep their games after beating them?
 

I'm in the final stages of getting rid of all 10 XBOX games I had (Ebay). I use the money to buy new games.

I never see myself replaying a game that I've finished. Even a sports game like NFL Fever loses it's appeal after the season is over. Plus they get updated every year.

Does anyone keep their games just to have them?

I keep mine because I never know when I might get that urge to pick that game up again. I always keep multiplayer games cause just playing the game with someone else could change the aspect of the game.

I always keep all my games for Nintendo systems and I always sell all my games for other systems.

I keep all my games - just like i keep all my music cds as well... the couple times i've traded either in without fail 2-3 years down the road i want to listen to/play it again and i think i have it because i remember owning it and it super aggravates me when i discover i got rid of it. The only exception is if i get rid of an older sports game for the updated one (ie. NFL2K, NFL2k1, etc.) and then only if i immediately pick up the new one.

Same here.. I guess I like seeing my collection get bigger or something.

For sports games, I usually trade them in towards the next year if the upgrade is noticable. For all other games, I keep them and replay them. Some games have different ends the second time (i.e. Silent Hill) and other games let you use the weapons you acqired throughout the whole game (i.e. Devil May Cry). Of course, there are some games that have no replay value (i.e. ICO) but you have to play it again cause it was that fun.

I generally keep my games, except for ones that I don't like much. Sometimes I go back and play through old games months (or even years) later. A lot of times, the game is just as much as fun as it was the first time through. :)

I do not know what I would do if I did not have all my NES and SNES games. Sadly, the Atari got stolen years ago.

The games are sentimental to me. I mean, I usually buy games that require about 40+ hrs of playtime to beat, so by then we're pretty good companions. :p

yea. I keep everygame for counsals..unless I really dont like them. but PC games I get rid of allthe time.

That's my main reason. After spending 40 hours on a game, I don't want to go near it ever again.... :D

I usually keep my sports games because there is replayability there at least with playing different teams but things like Rayman Revolution or Onimusha where you've reached the end and there is nothing else to do with the game then I trade it. I don't really see myself going through the frustration of finally completing the final boss (especially a game like Star Trek Voyager, damn that last boss is tough!). I usually feel relieved and I don't like my blood pressure to get that high again!!!

I keep my games unless I really need the cash for something, but don't buy too many games and I'm really really picky about the games I buy (hey $50 is a lot of money! ;)). I mostly keep RPG's, fighting games, or adventure type games. I'd agree with victant, most of the games I also buy are fairly long or I've played long enough that I'd hate to give up all the hard work I did on it by selling the game :D. But there are also games that are good to play through again once and awhile.

Do you sell your DVDs after you watch them, too? -wink-

No its not. If its a game I think I will play again I keep it. Same as with movies. I don't keep DVDs I won't watch again.

I keep almost all my old games, then get rid of the whole system if I ever get to that point.

That's actually a good idea. Once a system is dead it seems to appeal more to buyers when sold as a large set....

Back in my younger days (NES era), I replayed games that I had previously beaten over and over again. Now that I'm older, I just don't have the tolerance or desire to replay a game after I finish it. So, I almost always sell my games after I beat them. I've bought tons of games in the last couple of months, but the only ones that I haven't gotten rid of are Grand Theft Auto 3 and Halo. I wish I had kept Castlevania: SOTN, tho'...:(

I would more than likely get rid of a game i've beaten.....there are always new ones to take its place....though I haven't had time to beat any game, not even Halo on the xbox. Sports games definitely hafta to go.....i'm already ready for NFL 2K3.....:)
