Mario Golf and Tennis are on the Way!!!

I think this is great news, Camelot will again be developing both of these titles for the gamecube.

planetgamecube has the story

That is great news. It seems like every week their are a few more announcements that continue to round out the Gamecube library.

Camelot rules! I remember having a Mario Tennis tournament awhile back, good stuff!

Kellehair 03-06-02 05:56 PM

Sweet! Those were 2 of my most played N64 games.

planetgamecube has posted a link to the first screen shots of these two games.

Those shots look great but it seems as though they are not from actual gameplay. Hopefully the in game shots look as good.

How were Mario Tennis and Golf? I never had a chance to play either. For reference, I've never enjoyed a tennis video game (Virtua Tennis and the like) and I tend to like golf games where you can build your own player.

mario golf was fantastic. it was a little weird to be playing golf with cartoon characters, but the actual gameplay was up there with some of the best golf sims, IMO.

mario tennis was the same way. i enjoyed the single player mini games a little more then the word circut mode in virtua tennis. overall, both games were outstanding.

Playing with the characters gives both these games a very fun atmosphere. More so than other golf and tennis games, IMO.

Have you ever played Virtua Tennis on the Dreamcast?

Christo 03-07-02 04:46 PM

No, am I missing out on some fun, fun, fun?

I've played the golf games more than the tennis games, in general.

Mario Golf is terrififc golf game. There's a bunch of cool multiplayer modes too. Mario Tennis is an OK single player game but an outrageously fun multiplayer game.

I hate most sports games in general but I really liked mario tennis and golf. Nice gameplay system and excellent for multiplayer! You don't get to make your own character but the ones they provide are pretty cool and unique, its a lot like Hot Shots Golf (supposed to be really good) because its developed by the same company. It even has the same characters in it. Both games got pretty good reviews universally.

As I said earlier, we had this tournament of Mario Tennis in my friends hall last year it was a riot, so much yelling and screaming it was awesome :).

Both games are looking very nice! :D
