GTA 3 PC release
 

Does anyone know anything about the exact release date for Grand Theft Auto 3 on PC? And is it going to have multiplayer or is that just a rumor?

I generally hate playing made for console games on the PC, but in this case, as a Gamecube only owner, I have no choice. Looking forward to this...

From my contacts, there is no official word on the XBOX version of GTA3. The only game with an official statement from Rockstar is State of Emergency for the XBOX

Does anyone know why they are waiting to announce GTA3 for XBOX? Is there still a pretty good chance this wont happen? I know that PS2 had "exclusivity rights" or whatnot, is there a date when their "exclusivity rights" expire? Was it like a year contract?

Im sorry I know this topic has been discussed and RE-DISCUSSED, but I chose XBOX over PS2 b/c GTA3 was rumored to be released on XBOX in May. Now it kind of looks like that wont happen.

I imagine that it will be ported to the X-Box shortly after the PC version is released. Porting from PC to X-Box is simple so it most likely will be done. Of course, you never know.

I've been in contact with Rockstars PR company and they told me that their is no official word on the XBOX version. Nothing to relay to me on that. Not sure if that means that they're not doing it or just keeping hush. I just can't get any information on it. I know previous rumors were going around that the XBOX version would be out in May. I highly doubt it. They announced State of Emergency recently for the XBOX and that comes out in the fall. That was found out by looking at their financial statements and forecast for this year. No GTA3 on there. I wouldn't expect GTA3 anytime soon for the XBOX

thanks for the info...but this is certainly depressing. the last thing i want to do is BUY a F-ING PS2 just to play this game. I guess I can just rent one.

not a fan of playing games on my computer...just not the same. that is why I got an XBOX.

I agree with you there. My computer is for work. I get on the computer, I think work and it takes away the enjoyment of a game. just like to be able to play on a t.v. which is bigger than my pc screen too.

Luckily for me and others, the PC game industry is still growing, despite console sales. Different breeds, I guess. I thought long and hard about getting an XBox, but upgraded my computer instead.

Huh. My video card alone cost more than an XBox. Wonder how I justified that to myself?

I hardly think I was console bashing...just merely saying Im not a fan of playing games on a computer. If its any consolation I do EVERYTHING else on that console(PC).
