Love Devil May Cry, Can anyone recommend any other games on this order

Devil May Cry is one of my favorite games. I want to purchase something new, but I really don't know much about what to get. Looking for any recommendations for good games for PS2.

Not really new but a game that is semi-vaguely similar is Onimusha.

The most recent members of this genre are Resident Evil: Code Veronica and Onimusha, if I remember correctly. Both are vastly inferior, to the point that Devil May Cry renders them entirely unplayable.

Sorry, but gonna hafta wait for something more in this vein. Maybe the GCube Resident Evil, I dunno...

I like Devil May Cry's weapons more though. Love the Matrix-like gun shooting in the air.

Max Payne has Matrix-like gun shooting (bullet time) and in fact has a level that is very much like the lobby shootout from said movie.
