What are some excellent SNES games to get?
 

I'm thinking of re-picking one of these up...

Too funny. I just bought an SNES yesterday and have been hunting for games, too.

Buy Chrono Trigger, Breath of Fire 1/2, Super Mario World 1/2, Mario Kart... there are a lot. Anyone else have any suggestions?

These are the first that came to my mind but there are tons more.

All the games mentioned are great but also be sure and check out Tetris Attack. That game was incredible. The first Donkey Kong Country was alot of fun too. I still think the graphics on that snow level were awesome.

(Super Metroid)

You NEED Super Bomberman 2 if you have any friends at all.

I'd also second Rock 'n' Roll Racing, Actraiser and Contra III while throwing NHL '94 (sweet goalie control that the Genesis never had), Super Street Fighter II and Mario RPG onto the list.

What a sweet ass system the SNES was.

I always loved Super Ghouls and Ghosts.

And Super Adventure Island I think (is this the one where if you eat eggplant you got sick or something?)

Anyway, also SUPER MARIO ALL-STARS!

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a must-have game. One of the best Zeldas' ever made.

Funny this thread is up. I just took possesion of my old SNES from a friend that borrowed it but never hooked it up. He had it for about 6 years. I pulled it out and was cleaning it last evening because the case is all discolored. I have Supermetroid and Tecmo Super Bowl III. Have not tried hooking it up yet to see if it works.
