Strangest Death in HALO?
 

Anybody got any good death stories from HALO.

Yesterday, I shot a Grunt as he was throwing a plasma grenade, causing him to drop it at his feet. At the same time I threw a plasma grenade of my own which landed by that Grunt and a bunch of his buddies. I then retreated around the corner. As his plasma grenade went off it propelled his body around the corner (towards me) where me grenade (which was stuck to him) went off, in effect killing myself.

It was pretty funny to see though.

Lots of funny stuff happens when I play Halo co-op with my brother-in-law. One time, I manned a turret and took to firing at a pesky plane that had been shooting at us for a while. The plane made a big turn, then swooped down, firing at me. I just returned fire until I saw an explosion on the plane - it started to dive, fast. It happened so quickly, nothing could have been done; the downed plane fell like a homing missile right onto my brother-in-law. He died.

I can't think of a strange death off the top of my head....

But I just spent most of the past 24 hours playing this game and I had to say something. Figured I'd just add to this rather than start a new thread.

That was probably the most enjoyable 24 hours I've ever had with a video game. Wow.

after my 5th attempt or so at the final game sequence when you drive the hog to the ship, I finally made it to the end. I drove through the last sequence with guys shooting at me from both sides. Amazingly, I survived. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. My radar said I only had a few hundred meters to the end. Finally I jumped out of the hog. Crap, less than 10 seconds to go. I run up the ramp, watching the seconds count down. 2 seconds left and I think I can make it. 1 second left, and I get shot in the back and die. So close but not close enough. Next try I beat it with more than 30 seconds on the clock, but it just wasn't the same feeling.......

In the Covanent ship, I throw this plasma grenade at a group of guys coming in the Cargo Bay. I run behind a bunch of crates and moving around the other side, just in time to see a Jackal running at me with what looked like his head on fire. It was so funny looking (he's yelling and flailing his hands around) that I didn't notice that it was a plasma grenade (possibly mine but I never was sure). Then it went off in my face. With my luck, I should stick to frag grenades.

after killing two marines they all chased me down and killed me.

I thought it wa funny...

I like the old attaching plasma's to the warthog in multiplayer...and running people over in tanks is always fun.

forget the warthogs, your a Master when you can take out Banshees by trowing plasma grenades up and them fly into it.

I just played Halo for the first time, so I'm a little late with all the Halo stories...

I was on a board where there was this gun turret up on a cliff above me, very high up. Well I lobbed a grenade way up there (not knowing there where exactly the gun turret was exactly), and I hear an explosion and a few screams. The next thing I know, I see the gun turret being knocked over the cliff and it falls right on my head. That was so ridiculous, I couldn't stop laughing...

It's only late for Halo stories when we're sharing Halo 2 stories on here. Nice to see this thread get a breath of fresh air.

Wow, this one rose from the dead. The gun turret on the head is about as good as I've heard. Nice job!

Well, I didn't die, but once i blew one of those banshees out of the air and it landed on my friend's head...then the xbox locked up...kinda amusing.

My strangest death though...I was running around and I fell through the floor...literally, fell through the floor...it was weird I'm standing there on the floor, next thing I'm falling into this funky glitch of an abyss...kinda funny.
