I like Echelon! (but...)
 

It’s a basically neat looking flying game with a sci-fi/military feel to it. Kinda like an airborne Mechwarrior 3. I like it so far.

My problem is: I can’t survive the first mission!!!

I’m no ace at flying games, but I’m no slouch either. What’s the deal. The way I get taken down every time is some enemy guy comes out of nowhere and plows right into my plane, knocking off one of my wings. I mean every time, too. I have never been killed in any other fashion, although about 1 out of 10 times it is the right instead of left wing that gets vaporized, so I don’t know if it’s a looping glitch. Plus I’ve tried all sorts of defensive/offensive tactics. Is this one guy some sort of kamikaze “boss” villain or what? -confused-

Anyway, that’s my latest video game stumbling block I thought I’d mention in case anyone else has gone through the same experience
