Max Payne(X-BOX) VS. Halo

A couple buddies of mine picked up Payne for the X-box last week. They raved how much better it was over Halo, both gameplay & graphically. I picked up Payne yesterday and played it for 4-5 hours. While I think Payne is a really good game, I don't think it has what Halo has. I lent the game to my sister today, and she called me a couple hours later telling me how much she loved it. I feel like the minority here, which isn't a bad thing, but I'm just wondering what you fellow hardcore gamers like better, and why. I really like how interactive Payne is, being able to check out almost anything, shoot waterfountains and pop-machines, etc... Bullet-time is also cool. Halo seems to have better A.I., and a more serious 'feel' to it(even though it's sci-fi). I like the fact that you can only carry two weapons, and you can't carry extra health. These two things alone make it a more challenging game. The Halo vehicles are also cool, as well as being able to interact with the Marines(and have them ride shotgun!). The Payne graphics are awesome, but (to me) seem to be "edgy", where as the Halo graphics are (to me) more polished, and realistic. I also think "I" will replay Halo more than I will Payne. Like I said, I'm not bashing anything, and both games are getting fair gameplay(as well as Madden). I'm just looking for some opinions.

I like Halo better. I like the story better and the way the story is told on Halo. I like the actual movies between levels on Halo unlike the storyboard format on Max Payne. The graphics on Halo I think blow away Max Payne. Death Matches and the online capability give Halo great replay value which Max Payne, once you finish, all you can do is play the same game again at a harder level. By the way, don't get me wrong, I think Max Payne is a great. I was very addicted to it and enjoyed playing that game through the end. Max Payne made you do a little more thinking during the game on how to get through levels. I'm actually selling my Max Payne to a buddy tomorrow since I feel I'll never play it again. Halo will be a permanent part of my library.

It's all very simple.
Let's see if they're still raving about it next week while you're still enjoying a game with more replayability.

I liked both. I think I had more fun playing Payne but they are both great titles. I wish Payne had multi player.

I also liked Payne better although it did seem a little too easy and short......

wow, what a 1 sided poll. I enjoyed both, and I think Payne had a great story, but without multiplayer, a game is nothing to me. Plus, that paynetime mode screwed up my timing in counterstrike for weeks......
