Did you know that the Paladin's voice from Diablo II...
...was done by Lamar from Revenge of the Nerds?
I just found out tonight from imdb.com. Who woulda thunk it.

Thank you, Goblincat. I've been playing Diablo II since it came out and never knew this. This made my day. I have been a fan of the first two Nerds movies. Lamar was such a classic character - but to hear the paladin in the game.... no way. This blew my brother-in-law away too. He didn't believe me when I told him at first.
One thing is certain: I will never look at a Paladin with a javelin the same way again.

The Fallout Series has had some great VA talent including CCH Pounder, Richard Dean Anderson, and Michael Dorn (worf).

On topic though - they were voiced by Eric Idle

(Off topic) I just finished his latest here in the states, Thief of Time, suposedly there are two more coming soon. Ones a Guards book and the other "Hero" or something. Memory is alittle fuzzy.
(On topic) I played the first two. Personaly I prefer the first one alot beter then the second.
MOD NOTE: Part of post deleted. There may be no legal response, but that doesn't make it legal. -namja
The Second Discworld game is avalible for PSX and can be found at several Blockbusters (but not all) and most pawn shops that have large PSX game selections. Its a good game, but not as classic as the first.
I think the third game was only released in Europe. I have no leads on it.

I'd love to get the old Lucas Arts boxed set now, but unfortunately I don't think any of them would work on my current "old", but yet "new" machine. Too bad. Have you tried their tricks for slowing down your machine?

I spent about 3 weeks trying to create a fake boot disk for my Windows ME system that would let me have sound and the works and wouldn't totaly screw my machine.
Never got it right.
G-police is TOP NOTCH and works well too.
I got the original Discworld to work in ME also.
They make MSDOS Emulators that let you set a "slowdown rate" I'm not sure where to go to get them. The problem I had was in getting a DOS enviroment. ME totaly rooted out alot of the main DOS stuff.

I have the original releases of Loom and Discworld. Are you guys saying that they will not work on a current win9x box?
I last played these games when they were new. I remember Loom being a very short game.
My original release of Discworld included a lead figurine of Rincewind and some other gadgets that I don't recall.

that's one collection with them included. I suppose if you can get ms-dos running smoothly you might be able to get it working, but I've heard of different problems here and there on other sites with older games.
Loom is probably shorter than I remembered, but the puzzles were a nice change from the normal adventure game and the music was great.

Win ME and up doesn't have a True DOS enviroment.
The previous Wins loaded DOS then launched the GUI out of DOS.
WinME is a true OS outside of DOS and to be jerks Microsoft went out of thier way to make it harder than hell to get back to True Dos.
I supose you could create a seprate HD partition with true DOS but I'm not that great at system work anymore. Plus you'd have to find DOS drivers for all your state of the art display and sound devices. (another thing that is virtualy imposible)
95% of the "Old School" games wont play without a true DOS enviroment. And the ones that will turn into Buggy Jello Crap without the proper drivers and boot paths loaded.
Its a nightmare, one that can be well worth it.
I just had really bad luck.
Was still fun tho

This thread has gone way off topic into something we generally don't like to discuss at DVD Talk: downloading games. Some games may be so old that no company will give a legal response, but that doesn't necessarily make it legal.
