Ah, it finally pays off...

AS many of you may, or may not know, I help run a video game fansite...

Well, this week, last year's efforts have finally paid off..

We are at 3,000-10,000(depending on what is reviewed/talked about that day) unique hits a day(up from the 3 when we started )

We have also begun the best part of running a game site...FREE GAMES!!!! Acclaim has begun sending us 2 or 3 games a week, and Capcom is also supporting us. It's great to be able to play all these games, for free! :D :D :D

I went to the mailbox today, and there was a new package from my webmaster, with All Star Baseball 2002 for the Cube in it...and on Monday, there waqs a package there with Burnout for the PS2 in it.

Gotta love it

Tell your CapCom rep we want MvC3 desperately!

I used to do this for a small group of gamers up in Wisconsin back in 93-94. Unfortunately, I was older than them (I was 23-24 at the time) and a college graduate working in a professional position, so I approached it differently than they did. They were basically in it for the free games and the ability to get into industry events like CES back when it was in Chicago. I'd look at a review I wrote and compare it to one of the one-paragraph jobs done by someone else, and I gave it up. The occasional free game was nice, but I was hoping for something a little more professional.

Oh well...if you're ever looking for a college grad old school gamer to review games, Thunder, look me up. :)

Ummm, could you give us the URL or is it FORBIDDEN to post it here?

Speaking of which, I never did get an e-mail back from your co-worker when you offered openings for the site. I would love free games to review. Add that to my DVD Talk review stuff and I'll get mighty busy.

Nevermind, you have the link in your dvdtalk profile. After review the site, I'm surprised they gave you any free games to review. Don't take it personally, but the site doesn't seem as polished as it should be. Great start/attempt, but any gaming site that does not review all consoles (where are the xbox game reviews?) does not seem complete to me.

Anyway, good luck with the site. I'll have to keep checking it out.

Im sure if you bought T-ball a Box he'd be glad to create a section for it. ;)

neat-o

Cool site, I quite like it.

The one problem I noticed is that the time it takes for pages to load is a bit long, even with a high-speed connection. Other than that, it's really nice. I like the layout, and it seems like there's a fair bit of content too.

And hey, if you need a freelance reviewer, let me know. :)

I second that. Tell the rep we want CapCom to make 2D fighting games for GameCube and XBox with the backgrounds and fighting characters in 640x480 resolution (unlike the DC and PS2 games released so far where I've read the character sprites are low-res).
