Well around my area they are in short supply so I thought this might help someone!

Trelach24 12-05-01 03:42 PM

Yeah they seem to be in short supply in the DC area. I got mine at the Rockville, MD Best Buy two days ago.

Hey, the government loves Bill Gates and they're buying up all his systems to play ;)

mwestep 12-05-01 06:33 PM

almost every store has Xboxes, but no cubes on the shelf. I was at wal-mart yesterday, and 3 people bought ps2's within 20 minutes while I was in the electronics department. It looks like there is a high demand for ps2's and cube's, but the xbox's aren't really selling...

The Oval Office would be a perfect place to set-up for a LAN deathmatch party!

Eternia 12-05-01 08:08 PM

They are everywhere where I live also. What you cannot find is a Gamecube

Nefarious 12-05-01 08:17 PM

Local Hastings has a GameCube. Target had 6 X-Box machines as of my last visit.

twikoff 12-05-01 08:23 PM

if your looking for a gamecube.. come down here..

all our stores have them falling off the shelves, but no xboxes to be found :(

db27 12-05-01 08:27 PM

no gamecubes in Vermont, between EB, Babbages, Best Buy, Walmart, Fye I'd say we must have over 300 available XBoxes

Mattalos 12-05-01 08:31 PM

I'm liking how some people are saying "We have them here" and don't say where here is. :D

Target in Los Angeles (on La Cienaga) has about 7 Xboxes if anyone is looking here.

Yep, you're one of the ones I was referring to. -rolleyes- :)

maninthebox 12-06-01 12:31 AM

Same deal here in Milwaukee. I have seen several X-boxes, but have not seen a GC since I got mine on day one. Can't even find controllers or memory cards for the GC now.

jhiter24 12-06-01 12:56 AM

No Xbox's or GC here in Bloomington IN unless you want an overprice bundle from EB. Damnit, I have my xbox, now I want my gamecube. Damn college towns with kids and too much of their parents money( oh wait that is me).

Deadpool 12-06-01 07:24 AM

Yep, they are scarce in the DC area. I was looking for one, but I'm going to wait til tax time to pick one up. By that time there should be no bundles to buy, I'll have a chance to try out the GC and supply should be good. My first full year as a home owner, can't wait to get rid of debt and spend some money on a system :) I was set on the X Box, but am now undecided again...

Trelach24 12-06-01 08:41 AM

You know you want one now :D. They had about 9 XBoxes yesterday in the Greatlands Target on Cherry Hill road in......um.....not really sure where that is.

Thrillhouse 12-06-01 02:03 PM

I went to Crcuit City in Manchester, NH, they had about 8 XBOXs and no Gamecubes. The guy at the frount said that they had not gooten many GCs at all. He also said that they had gotten a ton of XBOXs, and the XBOXs were selling a lot better. They had gotten very few GCs but they had them for a long time. I was there about a half an hour and about 4 XBOXs were sold. It seems to me like Microsoft has done a better job suppling them.

Although the local EB said that GC sold more, but they had been pusing it all along.

darkside 12-06-01 03:30 PM

Best Buy in San Antonio has a ton of Xboxes, so anyone here looking for it should try there. They got their shipment in.

Still no Gamecubes to be found.

Deadpool 12-09-01 01:46 AM

OK everyone in the DC area, the Toys R Us in Falls Chruch, VA on Route 7 (King Street) has about 15 X-Box's and 10 or so Gamecubes :) Go to the video game dept. and ask for one. They'll pull it out the back. This was around 4:00 pm on Saturday so call first if it's a long trip for you.

darkside 12-09-01 08:54 AM

San Antonio seemed to have them everywhere on Thursday and Friday. I went out again on Saturday night and Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target had completely sold out again. When the stores get a shipment there seems to only be about a two day window to get one before they're gone.

At least the Xbox still has accessories available. I've been looking for a Game Cube Controller for two weeks with no luck. Nintendo needs to send out a new shipment soon.

Draven 12-09-01 09:06 PM

I was at Best Buy in Bloomington, MN on Saturday. They had about 100 X-boxes all stacked in the video game department in a big ring-shape. Same with PS2 and DC. No Gamecubes though...

Alvis 12-09-01 09:15 PM

I keep trying to bid $200 on one on Ebay, but either it doesn't meet the reserve or I get outbid. Darn, not that I seriously expect to get one for that price. But I ought to be able to since I'm seeing a lot of these things not have a winning bid by the end of the auction.

By the way, saw four this weekend at the local K-Mart.
