Anger Management for me?(Smackdown 3)

I was trying to unlock the new Smackdown Arena by using the Rock in SlobberKnocker mode.

I was up to 12 guys defeated with over 5 minutes to go. It takes me 2 minutes to knock out Saturn because he reversed EVERYTHING I DID! Then Albert beat the hell out of me, not even letting me get a move in.

This is what ensued.

(My camera has a piss poor flash sorry)

Would you say this is unhealthy? Just because I lost a video game? :( I don't know what to do, I have no more controllers.

KnightLerxst 11-27-01 02:18 AM

Me during the summer during a game of Virtua Tennis with the guys. My buddy and I were up 5 games to 1 and we ended up losing...I grabbed the cd case and smashed it to bits and a couple of other cases as well.

Ok it was displaced anger from breaking up...anyway...I have nearly crushed my dreamcast controlers before getting pissed at a game...I just start squeezing.

My worst incidents include actually punching a tv before...needless to say it stopped working correctly...every channel was channel 14...

$35 later, I have a new controller again.

and to think, I used to have 4 of these...

It happens, but things are too expensive to slam around anymore. The genesis and SNES were great, because you could pick the whole system up and toss it across the room and it would still work fine.

I tossed my controller around a little bit with Tony Hawk 3, but nothing too serious. I've learned when a game has me pissed, its time to take a day off from it. Many times I come back the next day and can pass the level that had me frustrated.

At $35 a pop I just can't afford to smash controllers anymore. Not to mention I have a 6 year old in the house and I don't want him learning from my bad habits.

When I was working at funcoland my coworker slash roomate would try to twist the controller and break it that way. Because of the design it would never break sometimes you could hear stuff crack, but the controller would still work fine. So I adopted this theory thinking I could release my anger and not have to replace my controller (over my many years of gaming i have probably done at least 50 times), but alas this backfired, and after doing this for awhile I actually broke one in half it was very cool. Even though I have broken one this way itt was only one, and better odds then what I was doing before.

yeah anger management is in order for you guys

i just curse really freakin loud

I say swear words that don't make a lot of sense. I used to headbutt the controller on my Dreamcast but then I reverted to the first. I hope there isn't a correlation.

LOL, you guys are hilarious. I used to break stuff constantly when I was in my teens, but now I just play it too much if I can't figure it out. I must have played Turismo 50 times on GTA3. I think my wife would throw my ps2 away if I threw something in front of my children.

As I was a kid I used to chuck my NES controller at the hearth by the TV. When I went to college, I moved on to screaming nonsensical profanity, much like GP.

Oh and TB, nice change from The Guide to Supes. :)

I unlocked the new SmackDown arena by winning the world title in story mode. The arena, Shane and Steph were the last 3 cards I unlocked. Just keep winning the world title, forget about Slobberknocker mode.

Come to think of it, I think I broke more Genesis controllers that anything else. I can't remember ever actually breaking a 8 bit Nintendo controller. I know I broke a few SNES and PSX controllers. I have not broke a GC controller, but it is still early! :)

Burnt Alive 11-28-01 03:45 AM

Those NES controllers sure were built tough....however, the furniture I used to throw mine at was not!

I asked a few friends today and none of them remember breaking a NES controller either.

I haven't broken many controllers. But many of them seem to have something rattling inside. The only controllers I ever broke were a few for the Super Nintendo. I have thrown chairs before and punched a hole in the wall because of a computer game. But mostly nowadays, if a game upsets me, I just turn it off right there and go somewhere else.

The only controllers I ever use to break were the Atari ones and that was just from regular use.

I swear those joysticks were the cheapest things every made for a game system.
