Star Wars Mod for ST: Armada
 

I did a search for this but didn't see it anywhere. Apologize if it's been discussed.

Ever wonder if a Nebula-class Frigrate could go up against the Enterprise? Here's your chance...

I picked up the Holiday PC Gamer, and found a wicked mod on the demo disc.

I bought Armada when it first came out, but was quickly bored by the computer AI. This mod inserts TONS of ships from Star Wars into the game. Needless to say, I installed Armada again as soon as I got home.

It kicks ***. There's no other way to say it. You start up an "Instant Action" and play as either the Rebels or the Imperials. You start with either a Mon Cal cruiser or SSD supporting your base. You can pretty much build every ship they use in the movies, plus some of the offshoots (TIE Defenders, T-Wings, TIE Advanced). It's a lot of fun, I had the Mon Cal cruiser going up against a Borg cube. Wicked cool.

It's missing some of the small pictures of the ships in your display, and the capital ships turn a little too easily, but it's worth checking out.

Great post! Is this for ST : Armada, or ST : Armada 2?

How long do you think before Lucasfilm sends a Cease and Desist and makes them pull it?

I knew there was a reason I downloaded ST: Armada off the newsgroups. SWEET!

FYI to anyone using this mod, I'm gettting a lot of crashes to the desktop. Don't know if it's the mod or Armada itself that isn't playing nice with my Win2k computer, but it's fairly consistent.

Still a fun mod though...
