Hard to say: I see a bunch of good ones for next year.
RPG: Project Ego, Elder Scrolls: Morrowind
Action: Yager, Blood Wake (technically 2001, but could get knocked back), Unreal Championship, Brute Force
Racing: Wreckless, edit -- added Rally Sport Challenge -- check out the trailer. Looks like whatever background issues were there in PGR have been totally taken care of.
I haven't seen as much as I'd like to about some of these games, but I'm really looking forward to these and others.

Neither Gamespot nor IGN has Shenmue II listed for the X-Box. Where did you hear about this?

Gamespot annonced about a month ago that the Shenmu sequals will be scraped from the DC and continued on the X-Box
They did not announce when so it may be after 2002.

Don't jave an x-box, but heard about project Ego--sounds pretty sweet!! You take a person from birth to natural (or un-natural)death. It goes like this--if you had a one-night affair as a kid, you could face the resulting child years later--sounds pretty realistic
