XBOX 3rd party games vs GCN 3rd party games
I'm interested to know which system will have the better 3rd party game. For example, SSX Tricky comes out for both, which one will be better graphically speaking? Same goes for Madden.

The current EGM (the XBox vs Gamecube issue) had a very brief snippet with pics regarding Madden. They pointed out that there was no difference graphically.

With most 3rd party games that are going to multiple systems, very rarely is the time taken to tweak each version of the game. They just make each aspect of the game work to the lowest common denominator and do as straight of a port as possible. As such, the textures and what-not are all going to be the same from system to system.

I agree with Groucho, you're not going to see very much difference in those "across all platforms" games. Especially Madden and Tricky- EA doesn't put very much time into optimizing their ports.
You will probably see more of a difference between PS2 and Xbox/GCube ports.

It will mostly depend on what developers are willing to do.
If they are straight ports then there won't be much different, but if they are willing to make some changes to take advantage of the Xbox pixel shaders or something then there will be some differences.
I would imagine that at least some developers will do that, but it cuts into the dev time and forces them to split their code trees.
It's all a question of time and budget.
