I've seen that thing before... kinda cool if you ask me.

its quite an interesting combination of items. honestly it is a pretty neat application and i wish that the game boy would be used in more neat applications like this.

RudeBoie 10-20-01 10:18 PM

Yeah, I think this was covered in EGM a while back.

Outlaw 10-21-01 12:27 AM

hell yeah! This far better than any cube or box!!

Seriously though, this is a really cool idea! I read about this thing awhile back on a site and it is the real deal. I haven't actually taken the step to go down to a retailer to see the demonstration though.

But some of the stitches are fairly complicated, like you can even sew alphabetical letters, or tiny pictures. It opens up a huge possibility just with a GBC ;).

I think there is also an mp3 cartridge for the gameboy that connects to the computer by USB too so you can listen to mp3's on your GBC. I've got the GameBoy camera (got it for free) and its fun on road trips. Sure the quality of the picture is pretty bad but its still fun. Anyone know any more devices for the GBC?

Heh, Singer used to be really big into video games back in the 70s and 80s with Atari... good to see them getting back into the business.

Will it stitch the words, "Game Over" just before running out of thread?

Filmjester 10-22-01 12:22 PM

Just what every gamer wants to learn how to do. Sew.

I think Id rather play a bowing or pool game.

Sigh...

mmconhea 10-23-01 12:22 PM

Anyone recommend a good lighting attachment for this sewing machine?

haha, I wonder what my cousin has to say about this... he works for nintendo.

reasons to get the singer/game boy:

There were plenty of them at launch, and easy to pattern for.

It doesn't look like it should have a sticker reading, "Enjoy your alternative happy meal toy!"

It won't crash on you, force you to buy upgrades for each individual system that you own, put you on hold for five hours when you call customer service.

Sure, it seems like some harmless fun, but you just know it will inspire some disturbed kid to bring some needles and thread to school and before you know it there will be cross-stitching incidents in classrooms all over the country.
