Anyone Play Max Payne on PC?

This game looks incredible but I'm reluctant to pick it up because of the pretty steep requirements. I have exactly what's expected for the recommended gameplay. An Athlon 700, 32MB 3D card(Rage 128) and 256MB RAM. If anyone is playing this on a similar system I'd like to hear how smooth the gameplay is.

Thanks to anyone who can respond.

800 MHZ PIII, Voodoo 5 5500, 384 MB RAM.

Plays pretty smooth. Not sure about framerate, but it looks and plays great.

Athlon 1ghz, 256 RAM, Winfast Geeforce 2 32 mb

always runs smoothly

I thought it played fine with low everything on my p3 500, 256mb ram, and a voodoo 3.

PIII, 600 MHZ, 128 RAM, 16MB 3D card (ATI Rage 128).

It runs really well, just had one slight problem in a scene where the lighting got quirky but other than that it's been great. (Looking at everyone else's specs it looks like I need to get an upgrade).

well, i have the minimum specs. celeron 300A overclocked to 450, 16mb TNT Card, 128MB ram. i have to say that at a lower resolution, i can play it. went thru the first chapter and it was very playable.

at work, w/ the p4 1.4GHz and 32 MB GeForce, 256 MB ram. i can run at higher resolutions and i notice much better frame rates, much smoother movement...

i also tried it on a Athlon 1.0GHz w/ built in sony Vaio SiS 16MB card, 256MB ram and it wasn't as much an improvement over my home system as i though it was going to be. i changed the video card to the 32 MB GeForce 256 and it was much better (but not as good as the P1.4).

i too will look to put together a system at the end of the year that will easily handle this game - and upcoming ones! - at least for another 6 months :)

It's also how you put the settings.

Thanks for all your replies. From the responses I've gotten I feel my machine can handle this adequately. Now to hope Best Buy puts this on sale again in the near future. :)
