Help me with Elite('80's game for the Commodore 64)

I have this game but none of the documentation for it. It has some kind of identification thing at the beginning. If you pass it you can play the game, if you fail it you can't. Well, I don't remember how to read the stupid code or whatever it is so I can pass it. Can anyone help?
