Well, some games I like:
Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns - great real time squad based fantasy game that ISN'T a clickfest.
Everquest - an oldie but a goodie - started playing it again recently and was very impressed.
Age of Empires II + Conquistadors Expansion Pack - a great deep real time strategy game, esp for the history buff.
Serious Sam: The First Encounter - What's this with all the talking and stuff in action games today? SS is old school action where all you needed was tons of nasties and really big guns a la Doom. (Game looks awesome too).

I'd have to say Tactical Op's for UT, but it has problems with players ruining it. I would have said UT, but found out that most ppl who play it are complete asses and there is no chance in hell in getting help from a GM. I wrote Sony to tell them I was quitting and why (simple solution would have kept me in game), but I got the traditional big company "go **** yourself, we don't want your business answer" so I stopped for good.

Can't really pick it up in stores... but I'm playing Hercules and Xena: Alliance of Heroes right now. Before you scoff at the name, just keep in mind it's more like an ancient Greek RPG than anything to do with the shows. They just have backing from Universal which just makes it even better.
As for offline games... I'd have to agree with Age of Empires II and the expansion pack. I've been playing that a lot as well as Zeus which is like the Caesar and Cleopatra city building games but a lot better. Anyone heard anything about the Poseidon expansion by the way?

I recently beat Record of Lodoss War (RPG) on Dreamcast. I'd have to say that it was pretty involving. Great alternate timeline-type deal with regard to the anime.

I would have to agree with Age of Empires II and the Conquerors Expansion...but I just started playing Cossacks. And while its like AoE...its takes a bit longer and its nice to be able to build up armies of over 1000 men. AoE can only take 200.
When I get in the mood...Starcraft Broodwar is great too.
Can't wait for that Diablo 2 Expansion!

Beat FF9 recently. Thats a must have game.
Alpha Centuari and Alien Crossfire expansion are sweet. I picked up Tropico (PC) yesterday. It looks a bit like Sim City, but different.
