i know people have brought it up before, but I can't find the thread. anyone actually using this chip yet? I know you have to solder 1 point, was it difficult? do you think it's worth getting, or is compatibility with the games an issue?

I've got the Neo2 chip (I know you are asking about the NeoUSB one). I looked at the solder points for the external and one spot is easy, the other is one that's also used on the internal chip...it's a little more difficult but can certainly be done. I haven't seen instructions on booting up backups for EA titles yet. Not necessarily a good sign. You might want to make sure and see if it can support those before jumping on it. Just my opinion.

Also if you already have to soder anyways whats the point. If it just plugged into the USB would be different

Considering I'm on my third PS2 due to problems with the first two I'm not going to do anything to void my warranty. There isn't anything from Japan I want that bad anyway. A USB mod would be interesting though.

if I'm going to solder anyway, I'd rather do 1 point than 8, but I just want to make sure it's going to be compatible with everything.
