Best episodes ever!

Simpsons - probably the one with Alison, the girl who was smarter than Lisa. Ralph Wiggum did some of his best work in this one: "I bent my Wookiee!" "My cat's breath smells like cat food."

Seinfeld - "The Marble Rye," where George had to smuggle a loaf of rye back into Susan's parents' place.

Those are my 2 favorite TV shows and both had countless memorable episodes. It's so hard to pick just one!

That is a classic one.

And to my dismay George cheated....

"Fallen Hero's", the two part season finale (the second last season I think...) of Homicide, with Georgia Rae, and Pembelton's retirement

Decker 04-13-01 10:14 AM

X-Files : Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
Friends : The One Where Everyone Finds Out
Fraiser : The Matchmaker
The Sopranos : College
Fawlty Towers : The Health Inspector (a.k.a. Basil the Rat)
ER : Love's Labor Lost (The first season episode where Dr Green loses the baby in an emergency delivery -- that episode gave Mimi Leder a film career)
and yes,
Sinefeld : The Contest :)

Though it makes my cry like a little girl evertime I see it

Mash - When Henry dies on his way home.

The pure emotion of it was incredible, the fact that they never told the cast what was to come made it very real for me.

Shoveler 04-13-01 11:52 AM

Seinfeld -- The Jimmy. The Contest is a close second (VERY close), but I've always liked the Mel Torme episode a little more for some reason.

X-Files -- Jose Chung's From Outer Space. Bleepin' incredible! Charles Nelson Reilly, Alex Trebek, The Body, gimme a bleepin' break! This episode is pure genius!

pelenor 04-13-01 01:03 PM

Goota be the episode fo the now defunct 'Chicago Hope", where everyone of the major characters were quarantined in an operating room. Hilarity ensues! It was from the first season, I believe. Becasue Mandy Patinkin was involved. What a great actor!

dknight04 04-13-01 05:56 PM

Drew Carrey: Drew's Cybersex nightmare, the Video gag, Drew loses half his house.
Seinfeld: George in the Yankees episodes, the cock fights, the foto scandal, the chicken restaurant.
Raymond: Robert's encounter with a Bull, Ray erases wedding video, Robert's Italian girlfreind returns.

huzefa 04-13-01 07:53 PM

Friends episode: The one where Joey loses his health insurance, the part where he goes on the audition and has to say, "I've got a surprise for you..." was the funniest. I was cracking up, he's a great deadpan actor.

The old Star Trek episode "Balance of Terror"

My favorite Star Trek episode(s) ever! I suppose I will pick it (them).

JonTurner 04-14-01 01:33 AM

My first post on the TV forum:

"Seinfeld" - The Contest has to be the best.

I must mention though, on "Friends" a few weeks ago (It might have been a recent rerun) when Ross was playing some instrument horribly, and he wanted people to sing, and Pheobe was so into it, and let out that high pitched screech like she was trying to sing along. I haven't laughed that hard at a single moment of TV in ages.

Anyone remember this?

Yeah, I remember this episode. It was really funny and I'm pretty sure that the director said cut but kept rolling anyway, 'cuz it looks like the scene ended and she just kept screeching 'cuz it was really funny.....

p.s.: Welcome to the forum

I have two questions:

1. What was the plot outline for "Chain of Command" (STTNG)? I've seen almost all that series's episodes but don't know them by their episode names.

2. ER - Love's Labor Lost. Umm..was this the episode NBC ran just a few weeks ago on Thursday (the first classic ER)? It was the one where the mother dies but he saves the baby. It had that guy from the West Wing on it. This seems contrary to the one Decker pointed out because he says the baby dies instead of the mother. I'm thoroughly confused

I remember this, it was a good one. I'm pretty sure the mother died and they save the kid. And the head honchos get pissed 'cuz the baby had no insurance, or something? I really liked the live one too, not 'cause of the plot, but that it was a cool thing to do.

Eternia 04-14-01 01:18 PM

#1 favorite... "Lillian Loses Her Powers" - The Charmings
Cory brings home a flu bug from school, giving the Charmings their first experience with illness. Eric soon becomes a hypochondriac, practically buying out the local drugstore. Lillian congers up a potion of chicken soup but forgets to read the fine print --- "May cause permanent loss of powers in witches." Not being allowed to stay with a powerless witch, the Magic Mirror prepares to leave and shares a poignant farewell dinner with Lillian.

tofu 04-14-01 03:49 PM

the thanksgiving episode from friends where they talk about their past thanksgiving horror stories and joey tells the one about him putting the turkey on his head . . oh, cracks me up . .

SaintMax 04-15-01 02:30 AM

The last episode of the second season of Millennium. Jaw-droppingly classic, with the chutzpah to include the entirety of Patti Smith's "Horses". It was the perfect series-ending episode.

Unfortunately, there was a third season.

Just saw the "Health Inspector" ep of Fawlty Towers, and I just about busted a gut. Too great. Include two other BBC shows: "Bambi" from the Young Ones and "The Easter Bunny" special of The Vicar of Dibley.

Yes, that's the one. I didn't know it was rerun reently. I haven't seen it since it first ran in March of 95, so I forgot the details. It was such a powerful episode that Spielberg tapped its director Mimi Leder to direct the first feature at Dreamworks (The Peacemaker). Since then, she has had a fairly successful film carreer (Deep Impact, Pay It Forward).

And to the person who just saw the Health Inspector episode of Fawlty Towers -- did I tell you, it's maybe the funniest half-hour of TV ever produced.
