OK, the neck bone thing confused me. I lost interest the last couple of years, so haven't seen every episode.

I thought that the invasion was going to involve the aliens that shapeshift. I know (at least) one is the bountyhunter, one is the healer-dude, and that there's also a splinter group that is trying to prevent the invasion(including the ones that have removed their eyes/mouths). However, none of the shapeshifters shown so far have the bone protrusion on their necks.

How many 'types' of aliens are there? I assume the 'greys' are different than the shapeshifters? Are the replacements with the bone-protrusion a third?

Here's what I've been wondering about Mulder being dead and buried; don't they embalm people? It would be a little hard to come back from that.

I'm so over Mulder it isn't even funny. I was actually DISAPPOINTED when they explained away his death. Dogget clearly given the series its second wind.

Let Duwhiney go off and do lame romantic comedies. I'm tired of his off-screen attitude toward the series and its fans. I can't wait for another 20 years when he'll be crooning for Priceline.com.

You know what KEEPS getting better each week? The Lone Gunman. What a fun show. Who knows if it's got legs, but Friday's ode to Planet of the Apes was genius.

noelgross - I'm loving the Lone Gunmen. I think it's great, but I am disappointed that they're more dorky on their show and more brilliant on the X-Files, as previously observed. Also, it's disappointing that the writers/producers could not keep up the level of story-telling that has been going on this season.

Good points about everyone just accepting that Mulder has risen from the dead, and the embalming thing. Also - he's been dead three months and his apartment is just as he left it. Wouldn't someone have gone in and cleaned it out by now?

Here's another question -- Who has been paying the bills for Mulder's apartment while he was missing, dead, etc.?

he apparently is. they haven't said if he was a shape shifter or a 'replacement' yet....but i'll bet he's a replacement that really is trying to help.
