Which one do you have?

I am looking at a TIVO. When Direct TV comes out with a Hi Def Box and TIVO i will purchase. Till then I will have to suffer with gasp Video Tape. :)

Which brand do you have and what size ?

Phillips HDR-30 or something like that. It's the 30 gig hard drive model. I don't record too much tv, so that's plenty of space for me. The interface is very user friendly, especially since i'm beta testing 2.0! :)

I'm not a big fan of the remote, though. it's the shaped like a peanut. sometimes when you grab it, you hold it upsidedown because without looking at it, you couldn't tell the difference.

other than that minor gripe, i've enjoyed mine ever since the day i got it.

I have a pronto so the remote is no biggie. I think I need one. :)

I have the Tivo Philips 30 hour model. I think it's actually the best piece of A/V equipment I have. I too am beta-testing 2.0 and have to say that it ROCKS. They really listened to what people had to say version 1.3 lacked.

As for the remote, I have no problems with it being upside down in the dark. There's either a slight weight difference or I'm consistent :D. When I first got it this was a problem for a week or so, but you can always tell the lower end has the number keys on it.

I actually have the money to purchase the lifetime service, but continue to pay the monthly fee. My way of looking at it is that it's so much more value than TV Guide, which is about $10/month. If I keep paying monthly, Tivo keeps generating revenue. I'm more than happy to do it if it helps Tivo stay alive. THAT'S how much I love this thing. Now, if I get a PVR for the bedroom, it's gonna be a Replay or a Tivo with lifetime, because they offer no discount to multiple-Tivo households.

I get to download my 2.0 tonight. Looking forward to it.
