Man... what a craptacular Simpsons episode, it was way boring, don't stick those stupid boy bands in a cartoon that is watched by a majority of guys who would kill off all boy bands. The only funny part was
Spoiler:
N'Sync doing that army propaganda at the end and they signed up one of them, fugly I think it was

This was probably the worst episode this season when it was starting to be slightly better again.

N'Sync is the anthesis of eveything this show used to stand for.

I'm sick of celebrities on the show in general, but at least they could get some cool ones.

Yeah that was really bad.

Im kinda pissed about, I hate boy bands and The Simpsons is my favorite show. Is sucks that they merge the two like that :(

if that episode doesn't make you think that the show should end, nothing will. Celeb appearance episodes always suck, and this one was the worst.

ZenerDiode 02-25-01 09:16 PM

I thought them dissin' on boy bands was hilarious. Guess I'm the only one who cracked at the "Thank you NASA" joke.

Deftones 02-25-01 09:17 PM

it wasn't that bad.

Adboy151 02-25-01 09:22 PM

I thought the marathon sequence had its moments... but yes, this season has had more misses, than hits.

mikehunt 02-25-01 09:24 PM

I watched battlebots instead, knew it would probably suck just because n stink was on

Kaiser Soze 02-25-01 09:57 PM

It wasn't great by any means, but it wasn't that bad either. A solid 5 on a scale of 1-10.

Hey, I just signed up for the Navy for no apparent reason whatsoever. (I thought it was a decent episode.)

Was wondering when someone would post that.

After that hilarious Robert Smiegel cartoon on SNL Saturday night, slamming the Backstreet Boys, it was definitely a little sad to see the Simpsons creators kissing up to N'Sync by actually having them on the show.

Geoff H 02-26-01 01:56 PM

Man, I dunno what the problem was.... I thought it was hilarious!
I can't stand boy-bands and such, but I thought all of the scenes with N'Sync were really funny.

tha_dvd_man 02-26-01 02:08 PM

I don't even watch the show anymore. It's terrible compared to how it used to be. The writing is just total ASS now. But what else do you expect from a 12/13-year old Fox show that still has high ratings.
The show now has many problems, but one thing they need to do is stop using those damn guest celebrities, focus way less on Homer (he used to be funny but now he's an obnoxious moron) and focus much more on Bart and the side characters. For example that episode with the comic-book store owner guy a few weeks ago was IMO the best in months.

I wish they would just go the way of Seinfeld and cancel the show before it becomes a steaming pile of s**t (althought it looks like it's too late for that now). Ahhh how I long for the days of season ~5 episodes.:(

JMan202 02-26-01 03:23 PM

I thought it was really funny when Homer said to Marge "How many lives must you ruin?"

I dunno, I thought the Paul and Linda McCartney episode, when Lisa turns vegetarian, was hilarious. A lot of the others do blow, though.
