To the people wondering about Family Guy, I pulled this from http://www.thefamilyguy.com :

Family Guy WILL RETURN!!! 24.01.2001.

Many of you have been emailing us asking about the return of Family Guy...well here is the low down. Family Guy WILL return to the fox broadcasting line-up for it's 3rd season. It is expected to be airing sometime in Spring or Summer 2001. This summers ratings will most likely determine if the show will sign on for a new contract or not so be sure to watch every episode :)

Hell YEAH! :)

No Use For A Name 02-25-01 02:52 AM

Sports Night
Action
Freaks and Geeks
Cupid...

...I know there's more but I can't think of them.

How do shows like these get cancelled, while derivative shows like Will and Grace get awards?

thegame370 02-25-01 04:36 AM

I might b the only dweeb saying this but i was a huge Beverly Hills 90210 fan and i miss the show. If your talking about old school shows i miss:

Growing Pains
Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Perfect Strangers
Roseanne
Whos the Boss
Saved by the Bell
Martin

louiseb 02-25-01 08:16 AM

Mine have been mentioned
Twin Peaks
American Gothic
Cupid

Plus shoot, what was the name of the one that I think had "Bob" in the name, had one of Bridges brothers in it, don't think it was even on a full season, but I loved that show!

and I was liking The Street

IdgIe49 02-25-01 09:29 AM

I cant believe no one said The V. mmmm that Marc guy was a hottie.

Also:

2000 Malibu Road
Class of '96

There's another one that I don't remember the name. With a guy named Scout, and the girl who dressed up like a boy so she could go to an all boy's school? It was only 6 episodes and hasn't been on since.

Alien Redrum 02-25-01 10:34 AM

In no particular order...

MST3K
American Gothic (The name's Buck, that's Buck, with a "B")
Get a Life

Rocky_Raccoon 02-25-01 10:40 AM

Profit ( this show was not given a chance at all , damn fine show )

MST3K ( Sci-fi didn't know what the hell to do with this show)

Sports Night ( At least can watch West Wing still )

Twin Peaks ( I wish they would at least do a reunion movie to clear up the cliffhanger )

Freaks And Geeks ( great show , I hope Apatow's college show that is going to be on Fox will get more of a chance )

Snoops ( I think Paula Marshall is cursed, any show she is on gets cancelled pretty damn quick )

Clint

xmiyux 02-25-01 11:13 AM

Yes! So many good shows cancelled and so much sh*t still on television. My picks are:

MST 3000
Clerks
Normal, Ohio
Twin Peaks
Get a Life
Twilight Zone

Nazgul 02-25-01 11:38 AM

Twin Peaks
Sledgehammer!

Troy Stiffler 02-25-01 11:53 AM

MTV's The State
The Critic

wolfman27 02-25-01 12:37 PM

I forgot about The State. That was a great show!!

Another vote for Newsradio. It was one of the most intelligent comedies I've ever seen, but the public wants six twenty-somethings with looks and nothing to do instead. Even if Lovitz did replace Hartman, he did a good job and Dave Foley was great in it. Oh well......
Some of the funnier plot lines for the show happened during the Lovitz episodes. I thought the three-parter where Jimmy James was arrested because they thought he was D.B. Cooper was hilarious.

That would be Maximum Bob with Beau Bridges, a NX-like show with the same fish-out-water concept. It was loosely based on Elmore Leonard's 1991 novel.

Danny in Yorktown, VA.

Orbi-Wan Techno 02-25-01 04:19 PM

NOW AND AGAIN!!!

Gizmo 02-25-01 06:55 PM

Freaks and Geeks
My So-Called Life
Eerie, Indiana

I don't think we should include shows that have lived there lifetime (4+ years). Those shows were canceled because they got old. Shows that were not givin a chance should only be said...Just My Opinion

MrBEAViS 02-25-01 07:16 PM

The Critic

Arkonne 02-25-01 07:26 PM

Clerks
The State

and believe it or not....

Fox's Kindred: The Embraced.

Dark Shadows (1990 revival).

Anthony Soprano 02-25-01 09:59 PM

B.J. and the Bear was great, but I don't remember the Enos show at all. If was on in 1981, then it was on during the DoH. Do you know what night it was on?

zsun 02-25-01 10:29 PM

Im going to say

Homicide and
Newsradio

orangerory 02-25-01 10:48 PM

V - well, I guess that was more of a mini-series
Battle Star Galactica
Lancelot Link

bigjim25 02-26-01 12:05 AM

I don't remember the Enos show at all.

Can't believe only two people have mentioned Homicide so far.

And yes, Wonderland deserved better.

Red Dog 02-26-01 01:57 PM

Star Trek - the original series.

Beanie74 02-26-01 02:29 PM

Sports Night

Zien 02-26-01 03:09 PM

Quantum Leap -- except for the Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and Evil Leaper season, it was a truly great show.

"Oh Boy..."

narcosleepy 02-26-01 03:26 PM

21 Jump Street
The Wonder Years
Seinfeld
Remote Control
Let's Make a Deal

neale 02-26-01 04:50 PM

Another vote for "Quantum Leap."

And I can't believe nobody has said this one. "Moonlighting." That show was incredible.

Not really cancelled, but of course "Seinfeld."

BlazerBeliever 02-26-01 04:56 PM

Sports Night was Great
Also one I haven't seen mentioned:
FreakyLinks
It was on Fox, got cancelled, picked back up and now I think it is cancelled again. It was a good X-Files type show without being to serious.

grifjr2000 02-26-01 05:06 PM

My favorite 2 are
1. Freaks and Geeks
2 Sports Night

DJLinus 02-26-01 05:11 PM

The Ben Stiller Show (As there weren't many, this would make a fine DVD set)
Get a Life
News Radio (thank goodness for A&E)
The Critic (thank goodness for Comedy Central)
Mystery Science Theater 3000
The State (See Ben Stiller comment above)

rockinphotog 02-26-01 05:16 PM

No one has mentioned:

NOWHERE MAN - UPN (fugitive-esque, ultimate conspiracy)

just found this:

guildda 02-26-01 07:11 PM

Newsradio
Sportsnight
The Tick
Dark Skies (On the original Saturday "Thillogy")

These are really the only shows I ever got into that were straight up cancelled

CKMorpheus 02-26-01 07:31 PM

Freaks & Geeks
Sliders
Family Guy
FreakyLinks
