The Amazing Race Season 37 (CBS) Premieres 3/5/25

https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...3ae7b5f9f8.jpg

Fourteen new teams are about to hit the mat in The Amazing Race‘s biggest season ever!

Before their journey of a lifetime begins (Season 37 kicks off Wednesday, March 5 at 9:30/8:30c on CBS with a 90-minute episode), meet the cast below which includes a pair of Vegas performers, retired firefighters, lumberjacks, parents of eight (!), nurses and more.

Described as a “season of surprises,” the show’s largest cast ever will encounter game-changing twists in every episode including some franchise classics like the Fast Forward and U-Turn. But new additions like the Fork in the Road will test the teams like never before, forcing racers to choose between two parallel routes to the Pit Stop where two teams will be eliminated.

The contestants will travel to Hong Kong and Osaka, Japan, teases co-creators and executive producers Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri, where teams will “experience a modern-day bullet train in a thriving city and then immerse themselves in a 12,000-year-old tradition, performing with a taiko drum group. They will feel the adrenaline rush of skydiving over Dubai’s breathtaking cityscape contrasted with another stop, for the first time on The Amazing Race, in the countryside of Bulgaria, where they will participate in a traditional folk dance.”

Looks like a decent cast. I like having 14 teams. I don’t think they’ve ever had that many start the race before.

Agreed! My only concern though is that they'll kill off a team or two right away. Nothing sadder than when someone gets kicked off before even starting (they've done that a couple times...)

This was a good premiere episode. The Amazing Race is back to what they do best free of COVID restrictions!

I have to admit that I admired the hell out of Jackye and Lauren; they didn't really have a chance, but they gave it their all and seemed genuinely nice as well. I'll miss their positivity. And Pops is a BEAST--climbing the bamboo tower using only his arms!

Wow, the Fork in the Road was a really, really good addition. I loved it.

I'll root for Bernie and Carrigain.

I was initially leaning towards Jonathan and Ana, but I was starting to lose respect for Jonathan. What a debbie downer!

I like it too, I know logistically hard but, I would have liked it earlier and had more tasks while split.

Jonathan remind me of Justin Scheman from Amazing Race 27, he was a real douchebag.

Yes, their positivity was refreshing. They seem like really nice ladies. But maybe you shouldn’t apply to be on TAR if you have a crippling phobia of (* checks notes)….Stairs?

Had they stuck around I have no doubt there would have been several more revealed.

Once again this week was what TAR does best. It’s been a long time since teams had to book their own travel like this and the challenges shuffled up some of the teams dramatically.

I must add that the Taiko drum troupe Kodo tours the world and I try to go see them whenever they come to Las Vegas. They put on a great show!

Wow, good second episode. My team came in 8th place, but impressive that Bernie and the dad got the drums on the first try.

I didn’t care for the challenges in the March 19th episode - origami and ninja course

Bernie and Carrigain not doing so great. Bernie probably shouldn’t have said she was the best (at the airport).

Alyssa and Josiah seem cool. I should have picked them haha

that episode seemed like it was 3 hours long, it was so boring.

I almost fell off my chair laughing at the black lesbian nurse couple at the end still trying to figure out the origami....'if we were in the hospital someone would be dead right now' rotfl

That sucks, I enjoy watching ordinary people taken out of their comfort zone and dropped into unknown situations, then camera mugging reality tv personalities.

100% agree. Although I enjoyed the last reality tv all-star season, but then we had a mix of representatives from different shows (including Survivor and previous Amazing Race players). Big Brother is one reality tv show that I just don't like.

About this last week ... was the ninja contest even play tested? When everyone who tries it switches, that's a screw-up on production.

But how will they meet their requirement to have at least one over the top flamboyant gay couple and one closets pair of best friends who obviously are gay and in love with each other????
